the a while, the work on the admiral wilson boulevard eastbound and 38 eastbound in pennsauken. multiple lanes blocked through next friday morning, you can expect delays traveling eastbound once again this morning. if you're heading down the shore early watch out for a crash on the ac expressway at williams town, looks like you'll get around that on this friday morning. >> let's go back to the breaking news with katherine. philadelphia police on the scene of another hit-and-run. police say the driver accused of hitting the two teens on a bike tried to get away kept driving. they have the person in custody. one teenager is fighting for his life. "action news" reporter, katherine scott is live in spring garden on north broad and wallace streets. she has the details. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam, the 34-year-old driver is in custody, appears he was

intoxicated and was taken for a breath breathalyzer. one teenager is in critical condition, the other in stable condition. north broad has reopened to traffic. it has been closed for police investigation. this happened before 2:00 a.m. in spring garden. police say five or six teens were riding their bikes on the 600 block of north broad. two victims were going southbound in the northbound lane when they were struck by a red sports car. the car was speeding, after hitting the teens it fled. their friends were not hurt. when the police arrived 2, 16-year-olds were lying in the street. one has serious head trauma, the second teen broke his leg. and medics took them to the hospital, the police spent hours investigating the impact.

the front tire was torn from the bike, that front tire landed 50 feet north of the impact. >> reporter: minutes after this crash, 6th district officers located the vehicle and the driver right around the corner on ridge near wallace, police believe the driver was intoxicated and taken to get a breathalyzer. the vehicle had front end damage. there are surveillance cameras in the area, police say they will pull footage to help with the investigation. we're live in spring garden, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> thank four that. also developing overnight, smoke bellowed from this apartment building in chester county overnight. fire officials say the blaze broke out after midnight on the 200 block of west chestnut street in west chester. there were early reports of people being trapped inside. officials have not said anything about injuries or what might have sparked the fire. >> chester residents had a

chance to voice their concern about the police department at widener university last night. it comes as part of a federal review and go officer-involved shootings and police policy and crime analysis, they were greeted with a near-empty auditorium. those who did show up shared their frustrations. >> a lot of residents are stereo typed because of where they live, feeling like a criminal when you call the police department. >> it all comes down to, and this process that we're trying to help the department and the community pull together to build trust. >> the doj will get input from officers and present a report on what can be improved. >> the jury deciding the fate of chaka fattah will continue deliberations today after the judge abruptly sent the jury home without explanation.

you can see that broad street has been reopened to traffic. it opened just before 6:00 a.m. it had been closed for hours for the police investigation. there were evidence markers scattered all over the street. five or six teen boys were riding their bikes on the 600 block of north broad and spring garden. the two 16-year-old victims were on the same bike going southbound in the northbound lane. they were struck by a red sports car. the impact was so fear the front tire of the bike was thrown 50 feet from the point of impact. one teen suffered serious head trauma in critical condition. the second teen broke his leg and is stable. medics took them to had had han. minutes later the car was located and so was the driver. >> the driver was with the vehicle and appeared to be intoxicated and had a strong

odor of alcohol coming from his person. he was transported to 8th and raise where he will get a breathalyzer. >> reporter: the 6th district officers located his vehicle on ridge bile wallace near the -- by wallace near the crash site. they brought the witnesses over to the vehicle and positively identified the driver and the vehicle. there was a 25-year-old passenger inside the car who appeared to be intoxicated. she was taken by police to be interviewed. katherine scott channel 6 "action news". in delaware, a juvenile faces charges for an attack on a 13-year-old girl, maera bey said children surrounded her and threw a cinder block at her face. police say it's an active investigation. >> happening today, memorial

service will be held for christina grimmie. the budding pop star and south jersey native was gunned down after a show in florida last weekend. "action news" reporter, annie mccormick is live in medford where friends and family will gather to remember her. good morning, annie. >> reporter: good morning, erin, christina grimmie grew up in marlton, new jersey, her services will be held in medford at fellowship reliance chapel later today. it was under a week ago 22-year-old christina grimmie was shot and killed while signing autographs following a performance in orlando. her brother marcus tackled the shooter who police identified as 27-year-old kevin loibl. during the struggle the shooter killed himself. christina grimmie did not know him but suspect he may have been an obsessed fan. these photos were taken during a short meet and greet. christina grimmie attended
