52 by 10 m noon, 54. we'll get a high of 61 but not there for long. by 6:00 p.m. we'll be in the low 50s and going into the 30s in most neighborhoods overnight. karen rogers i'll have the weekend call coming up and a change for the election day high temperature i'll let you know if it is up and down coming up. day four of the strike, we're following the regional rail, a little bit ago i warned you we might see delays with the median elwin line. we have a couple of delays already, yesterday we saw 30 minute delays, across the board for all the regional rails, media/elwyn people country get on the train. the rest of the trains are running on time at this moment. vine street expressway moving through the city, but expect

gridlock as the strike goes on with more people driving instead of taking mass transit. this is the schuylkill expressway eastbound near south street. we see the traffic moving, look at the number of vehicles and emergency workers on the scene. now the truck is trying to get by, tight squeeze right there. schuylkill expressway eastbound near south street if you're heading toward the walt whitman bridge. we have three police officers there, penndot on the scene. several involved with the accident scene on the schuylkill expressway eastbound blocking the right lane, pushed to the side. there you can see traffic is moving in this shot, but slowing down past the accident scene. >> "action news" reporter, annie mccormick is live at the sheraton in center city where federal officials and union leaders met and once again they left with no deal. >> reporter: no deal, but yesterday had a rocky start, but it did end with both sides back

at the table through a state mediator. they continued the negotiations late into the night, but ended with no deal yet. the latest proposal from septa has salary increases and enhanced pension plan. to off set the costs, union members will have to pay $120 more a month in healthcare. both sides are trying to get the numbers to match and come to agreement on non-economic issues like working conditions. septa chair accused the union of using the strike and willie brown cooled septa of playing games. if the strike continues through election day, septa has asked the union to temporarily spend the strike. the union said they will not back down 209 demand. several lawmakers are afraid that voters will not be able to make it to the polls early in the morning or late at night if the strike continues. back out here live, septa says

they are working on the paperwork to file an injunction in court so septa workers would go back to work organ election day, they did -- on election day, they did not file that yesterday, it could happen today. talks are expected to resume sometime later in the day here again at the sheraton. live in center city, annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." back to you. >> thank you anney. developing this morning, philadelphia firefighters rescued two young children fighting through flames in olney to get to them to save their lives. they were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. katherine scott is live at the scene with the overnight details. what do we know katherine? >> reporter: tam, the two children were trapped on the second floor of the home when firefighters found them and rescued them. they were taken to the hospital in critical condition. we are told this morning they remain in critical condition. fire crews were on the scene throughout the evening. now a police vehicle sits outside the home as the investigation continues on the 300 block of east sheldon street

in olney. firefighters were called out around 9:45 p.m. and here within 4 minutes. 9 fire commissioner said there was heavy smoke inside the home all the way down to the floor. during the course of the fire fight they rescued two children who were trapped. a toddler was taken to einstein with smoke inhalation. the other child was rushed to st. christophers. they remain in critical condition, but they are improving, so we are certainly hopeful our throughout and prayers are with the family and everybody on this block in this neighborhood that's been affected by the incident. >> reporter: at this point there is no word if there was any smoke detecters inside the home. the cause of the fire remains under investigation. we're live in old knee, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." matt. >> thanks, katherine. new this morning, a driver struck a police officer in montgomery county and kept on

sits outside the row home in olney. firefighters were called out to east sheldon street at 9:45 a.m. they were here within four minutes and placed the fire under control in 18 minutes. firefighters found and rescued two children who were trapped on the second floor of the home. par medicine i cans treated the children on the way to area hospitals. a toddler was taken to einstein with smoke inhalation. the other young child was rushed to saint christopher's. the fire commissioner said the heavy smoke made it different for firefighters to see. >> actually it was more smoke than flames. it seemed like the fire was inside the house. it wasn't -- no flames outside. >> it's always difficult to locate people inside a burning building. despite what you see on twist you can't see anything. the smoke was on floor, you

literally can see nothing. it's a challenge to locate the people in the buildings. our firefighters do an incredible job everyday. >> reporter: there's no word if there were walking smoke detecters inside the home. the fire is under investigation this morning. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> in the same neighborhood in philadelphia, a gunman shot a man firing several gunshots in olney before 9:00 p.m. the 22-year-old victim was found inside the home shot in the stomach, backside and legs. police took him to the hospital where's in critical condition. no word on what sparked the shooting. we're on day four of the septa transit strike and the frustration of commuters will appears to be no deal in sight. septa and the union are set to go back to the bargaining table today. annie mccormick is live in center city with the latest. >> reporter: good morning, tam, we actually just learned that a

member of mayor kenny's team was at the sheraton and did have discussion with both sides. we do know negotiations resumed late yesterday with a state mediator, but there's no deal. according to the latest proposal from septa it has salary increases and enhanced pension plan, but to off set the costs septa says union members have to pay $20 more a month for healthcare. both sides were trying to get the numbers to match and come to agreement on noneconomic conditions like working conditions. septa chairman accused union of prolonging the strike and the union claimed septa was playing grounds. union president willie brown will not back down to the demands of septa. septa lawmakers has expressed time with the concerns saying
