now on "action news" at 12:30. another day and more names being hinted as possibles for the trump white house team including former new york city mayor, rudy giuliani. and fire at one montgomery school forces students to stay home for the day. and ben franklin's burial place in need of repairs, how a fun tradition is behind the damage. now the details, donald trump's white house continues to take shape on decisions who will stand behind him on his team. this as president obama makes his final trip overseas. we are joined now from washington with more. >> reporter: sara good afternoon. as you mentioned we know who our next president is going to be now everyone is focused on who will join him in the white house. after the intense scrutiny over his first decision we are waiting to see who is next. >> president-elect donald trump is beefing up his white house and the rumors are flying, all eyes are on rudy giuliani the

former new york city mayor and long time trump loyalist as secretary of state. another contender, former u.s. ambassador john bolton. >> john would be a good choice? >> is there anyone better? >> maybe me i don't know. >> stephan bannon as chief strategist and white house counselor. he led the charge to turn the site breitbart into the site for theality right. accused of being racist and anti-semitic. >> there is no sugar coating that a white nation lift is named chief strategist for the white house. >> and they are finding themselves in a delicate balance, like recently reelected paul ryan, he offers a restrained opinion on bannon.

too cold. david murphy is out on the terrace with the details from accuweather. a nice november afternoon, it looks like a number of them in a row before another cool down and another shot of rain. lets start you with satellite and radar and parts of the area got the rain as expected this morning. some of you dodged the bullet and pushing up now to the north with sprinkles across the delaware river from trenton to the northern. they are fall ago part though. and we have sunshine returning now across the region, not a lot of rain in philadelphia we didn't measure anything. although i can tell you on the terrace for a brief time a light sprinkle or shower falling. this was not a big impactful fall event. they got an inch. 60 in philadelphia feeling pretty good. in new york where we are cloudier and sprinkle left over you are at 48 degrees. but down the pike in washington 62 and everybody is recovering.

holly, the victim was attacked on monroe street and air-lifted to the hospital in critical condition. this appears to be a domestic violence incident. they do know who the suspect is and did not release the person's name yet. >> a man from morrisville, pennsylvania, was shot in trenton new jersey this morning, the victim was found on the 1400 block of edge wood avenue, trenton desks are looking for a motive and no arrests are made yet. a fire in a school in montgomery county appears to have been an accident. firefighters were called to the lake side school at 2:30 this morning. flames were coxing from a classroom in the back of the school. school was closed for the day. another name is added to the race for governor in new jersey, democratic assemblyman announced he is running for governor in 2017. he cochaired the legislative inquiry into the controversial

george washington bridge closures. governor christie's term ends in 2018. a bucks county school district eases concerns from parents and students from recent acts of vandalism and harassment. they held a meeting in new town, and comes amid a series of incidents at council rock high school where black and gay students are targets of hate speech. some say the threats predate election day. >> it's not just because someone got elected as president this is happening. apparently this is happening before. >> we are all saddened and invested in making certain we address it and tackle it. >> they are monitori ining cafeterias and hallways closely. the home of one of our

founding fathers needs repair. now a fundraising campaign is launched to fix ben franklin's house. annie mccormick has the story. >> it's a big site for tourism in philadelphia. ben franklin's home. and this is destroying the gravesite, the culprit is pennies that people throw thanks to one of his famous quotes. a penny saved is a penny earned. 4,000 there's a year is collected from the pennies. >> to repair the gravestone costs $76,000. and we did our best to race 66,000 and we need another 10,000 there's. the historical group is seeking funds another way. they created a go fund me page. >> he was the fundraiser of his

day. he went around selling lottery tickets and that is how we raised funds for that. >> people have come to see the gravestone, a simple marble slab created after franklin's death in 1790 and it draws people here. >> brides would do it on their way to christ's church. >> it's not the main cause of the crack but it does not help. >> and moisture between the base and original stone is to blame too and the tradition isn't going away. they hope to have the money raised by december 31st to have the gravestone fixed in time for franklin's anniversary in april. >> some of philadelphia's brightest minds are getting together to share ideas at the annual think fest. the day long discussion about

issues impacting physical's future. a little friendly competition taught students about recycling in cherry hill. the sixth graders were split into teams for the trash damage challenge. they threw is into one of three bins, the group that sorted the most correctly walk add way with drawinging rights. it is going to be a big night tonight in philadelphia. several local music legends will get the prestigious award. patti labelle and leon huff will receive the award at the gala center named after the famous opera singer and recognizes artists for their humanitarian efforts. our own monica malpass will host tonight's gala. there is more ahead here on "action news" at 12:30, a dangerous record attempt taking

they have launched a serious operation on two russian provinces. they said that russian war planes are targeting ammunition depots and training camps and missionaries. and they are continuing strikes on allepo. right now eight states are battling smoke and flames with north carolina and georgia hit the hardest. as abc reports they believe most of the fires are a result of

arson. >> flames tearing across the southeast with firefighters battling 42 fires overnight and some believed to be man made. >> we ask for information on anyone that may have started these fires. johnny molens here on facebook being aware of flames. >> the aspiring weather man later allegedly confessed he set the fire in eastern kentucky to get more facebook followers. the remaining suspicious fires are under investigation, and in north carolina the situation so dire the mandatory evacuation is in place. >> the conditions are terrible so dry just tossing aigarette in your front yard could cause a fire. >> orange in parts of georgia.

rain off to the north and east of philadelphia, it bothered us during the morning commute and now fast to depart. lets get you a look at that on sky 6 hd, over the commodore barry bridge we said that clouds would give way to sun but that is a heck of a lot of sun and the temperatures are climbing up there pretty well today. forecast highlights today we are in the process of drying out and even road surfaces and the grass is starting to dry out now. wednesday and thursday, it's going to be nice with a lot of sunshine and highs in the low 60s, friday and saturday, nicer as we get into the mid-60s in much of the region, here we go, temperature now is 63 degrees and dew point 36 and indication of how dry the air has become. winds out of the north at 10 miles per hour. breezy out there and not too bad. it's still massing up toward new york city and we have cooler temperatures, and windier conditions around that center of

low pressure drive that rain through, we are farther away from the low and the sun is coming back and winds are comfortable and the rain is gone. 62 is the high in philadelphia, we'll get up to 63 in wilmington and 58 in allentown and trenton. 61 in trenton and millville. and up the coast in atlantic city. and here is where the numbers go, we get them tumbling later on tonight. 62 is the high around 3:00, by 4:00 we are starting at 60. decent from now until 4:00, 6:00, 54, cooler after dark and 48 by 8:00. and the forecast low overnight for philadelphia is 41 but some models suggest that even in philadelphia we may slip into the upper 30s overnight and as you look at the temperatures at midnight and where they go at dawn, the latest model projection has us down to 38 in

philadelphia and colder than that in out lying suburbs, never fear if you step outside and it's on the cold side it won't stay that way. a weak frontal boundary coming at us. a short wave, ahead of it we get a nice flow out of the west that bumps up us to 62 degrees and the front comes through and the air behind it not all that much different and we continue the mild play for the rest of week. and as that weak boundary comes through its a shower touched off here and there. but it's not amounting to much. your exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast a high of 62 today and clouds mixing with some sun and tomorrow partly sunny to mostly sunny and mild with another high of 62, thursday lets repeat. 62 degree and nice with a decent amount of sunshine and friday takes the cake mostly sunny skies with a high of 66 and the first half of the weekend looking good partly sunny and great on sunday with another
