fierce fire is burning on a city block in trenton. dozens are forced from there homes. >> more breaking news from new jersey, another fire damages three homes and downed power lines, this is a dangerous one to fight. >> they are fed by wicked winds that began yesterday, they will stick around today before they return to more seasonable conditions. good morning, everybody, monday, november 21. tam is off, so is karen rogers we have david murphy and matt pellman. >> reporter: all right, guys it's a windy day, the wind advisory has been extended through 7:00 p.m. tonight. we could get wind gusts 40 to 45 miles per hour enough to bring down tree barges and kick debris around the roadways. 33 is the current wind gust in philadelphia. again these numbers could go up

into the 40s as we did see for a time yesterday. satellite and radar showed a break in the clouds, we'll see clouds and sun. up in the poconos, snow showers here and there today. 38 degrees is the current temperature in philadelphia. everybody is cold this morning. 35 in allentown. 36 in reading. mid to upper 30s in wilmington, trenton, millville and down toward cape may. the windchill is making it feel like the 20s. we saw a lot of folks yesterday with the winter coats on more of that this morning, certainly. as we go through the day, it will be the coolest day. 36 degrees by 7:00 a.m. 38 by 10:00 a.m. we get up to 45 for the high. even though, the windchills will make it feel like the 0s. matt we're looking at a another chilly wind day tomorrow before things improve temperature-wise, the question, is the cloud cover possible and rain on thursday. >> reporter: it is a little bit like an obstacle course with all the brancheses on the roads

because of the -- branches on the road. we had a tree on the schuylkill expressway eastbound approaching gladwyn. they have it pushed off to the side. both eastbound lanes are open. you're good to go on 76. there's a tree down willow grove 611 southbound at barrett road. no issues on the turnpike. there's a big issue in worcester township, a crash involving an overturned vehicle. you want to avoid buster road at skippack pike. germantown pike is an alternate. on the big picture no issues on the schuylkill expressway, the vine or i-95 or the boulevard looking good. we have fire locations in new jersey, in woodbury, avoid mehorter boulevard near red bank avenue. in trenton, steer clear of

weinberg place. there's a lot of smoke in that area. matt you have more details. >> thank you matt, a fire spread across the entire block 8 homes are damage and authorities have called in buses to bring people to safety. katherine scott is live at the scene along weinberg place with what is happening right now, katherine? >> reporter: matt, this fire is not yet under control. the deputy fire chief said they are trying to hold the fire to the 8 homes that are damaged or destroyed due to the blaze. there's been a clams. you can -- there's an collapse. you can see the firefighters are on the scene in trenton. there's a number of emergency vehicles surrounding weinberg place. the fire has been elevated to a five-alarm blaze. they brought in a fire coordinator from mercer county to help coordinate.

they recalled all off duty personnel to assist at the scene. the call came in after 3:00 a.m. from the unit block of weinberg place. when firefighters arrived, four homes were engulfed. the fire department said they had to pull back due to live wires which were on the ground. it was too much of a safety risk. pse&g responded shutting off power to the entire grid. the fire spread to 8 homes. there was a slaps in the fire disown -- a collapse in the fire disown e -- zone. all units are outside the zone trying to suppress the fire and keep them from spreading to nearby homes. the cars are burning on the blocks. there are reports of burn injuries. medics were transporting occupants to the hospital in the areas, but, again, so far there is no word on what condition they are in. there are heavy windy gusts in transport. the fire department said the wind it wasn't an issue, it was

the downed live wires. >> the biggest problem we had, as i stated before it was the wiser hampering 89 firefighters efforts. they shut off the whole grid so our firefighters could operate safely. >> reporter: i did ask him about the live wires whether it was the fire that brought them down or the wind. they don't yet know. they are concentrating on putting the fire under control. the flames spread to 8 homes. they have lines in place to try to prevent it from spreading to our homes in the area. a number of vehicles here, a number of fire d personnel. all units in trenton have been called here to the plus aid and from the county and surrounding communities, a massive effort as the five-alarm fire continues to burn in trenton. live in trenton, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> thank you katherine.

breakfasting a second fire in in just -- breaking a second fire in new jersey in new jersey, a person had to jump from a second floor to escape. mehorter boulevard, looks like they have the fire under control. just into the newsroom here, a viewer photo shows you what it looked like when firefighters first arrived on the scene. flames shooting from just about everywhere. the fire damaged at least two other homes, plus parked cars. patrol units are keeping an eye on brush that ignited due to heavy winds and wires are down. utility crews are being called to the scene, the block is being evacuated as a precaution. federal aviation workers arrived on the scene of a deadly plane crash in burlington county, new jersey. the pilot was the only person on board when it went down in bass river forest.

the pilot was william lindly of beechwood new jersey. police say a child was rushed to a million center in vineland after being shot, no arrests have been made. a maintenance worker scared off two men breaking into city hall. the suspect climbed through an open window in broad daylight and a janitor yelled at hem and called security. there is to damage to the building. happening today, president-elect donald trump is meeting for rick perry said to be an candidate for energy secretary. chris christie was at the trump national golf club yesterday.

up and see this photo a viewer sent in from the multi-alarm fire we've been reporting on from woodbury new jersey, we've been reporting on this all morning long, gloucester county new jersey. at least seven people have been injured in the fire that has torn through three homes and cars. we understand, again that seven people have been injured. one person who was taken to cooper university hospital, apparently jumped from a second-story window to escape. we are working on getting that

person's condition. again, crews reporting heavy winds that came through overnight in the area making this fire especially difficult to fight. the last time we took a live picture from the scene there were no visible flames. >> let's turn to matt pellman the heavy winds may be blowing the flames around could be causing problems on the roads. >> reporter: those are intense flames we saw in the picture. smoke continues to blow in woodbury. the location is mehorter boulevard near red bank avenue. use cooper street and evergreen avenues. no issues on 295, new jersey turnpike and 42 and 50 moving okay through gloucester county. the winds are causing downed trees and branches. this is a full tree in willow grove along 611 southbound side at barrett road the first

presbyterian church. one lane is blocked. you can squeeze by. bad accident in worcester, montgomery county. vehicle filmed over at skippack pike. valley forge road for the northbound travels and germantown work for the eastbound travels. the bridge over perkiomen creek reopened. that was closed since april. this morning you can use that. in chester county onday, yellow springs road and the knox covered bridge reopened. we have been without that since 2015 after it was damaged in an accident. that's good news. this isningtown 30 bypass by business 30. eastbound come the headlights, no delays. tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. they will be installing the pavement reflectors in the left lane

job it is. and how much we should appreciate our officers. the sacrifices they under take to protect us and our neighborhoods. >> police caught up with the suspect early this morning, he shot at officers and was killed when they returned fire. tensions once again flared on the dakota access pipeline. protester also pushed past a long block bridge. a law of line enforcement used tear gas and turned them back. the standing rock souix tribe says it's threatens their drinkerring water own cultural -- drinking water and tell cultural sites. danny davis said he will work to get guns off the street and out of young people's hands.

his grandson was killed overnight in an argument over sneakers. a 16-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl was denied bail. one of the nation's busiest airports will go on strike and that strike is going to impact thanksgiving travel. hundreds of workers at chicago o'hare are fighting for union rights and $15 an hour. a spokesman said it will not likely shut down the airport, but it will create disruption. we'll be back in a moment. >> reporter: national stuffing.
