still stuck in the 30's in allentown and reading so there's a real fine demarcation line between mild air and colder air but even in those northern areas temperatures are going to rise a bit as we go into around the midday to early afternoon hours. in philadelphia, mild all the way today. 57 degrees by 7 o'clock. maybe a little sprinkle around but it looks like most of that's off the coast now. by noon, 61. and by 3 o'clock, 62 with a high of 64 degrees. we'll probably hit that kind of early, say, around one or 2 o'clock and then down to 56 by 5 o'clock and by 7 o'clock, 50. now, that doesn't look too bad, reit? unfortunately those temperatures are going to continue to fall apart and go down through the overnight hours and sometime after midnight say around 2 o'clock in the morning or so we'll start to see some snow arriving. there's a winter storm warning from the poconos all the way south of philadelphia into all the counties away from the coastal areas. in this area we're looking at heavy snow at times overnight tonight in through tomorrow morning tapering off tomorrow afternoon. four to 8-inches isn't out of the question. some spots up here could go
even a little higher and then it's more like one to four down south with that advisory. i'll track the snow for you with future tracker6 coming up and i'll show you a bunch of models suggesting how much snow we might get in various parts of the region. karen. >> so for now roads just a little bit damp with those showers that moved through. we're looking live here at i-95 at the betsy ross bridge. light volume, no big problem and no fog here. it's nice and clear in philadelphia. if you're up in the lehigh valley we have some fog there and some fog in trenton. as we look live on the roosevelt boulevard extension that's your southbound traffic here headed towards the schuylkill. moving pretty nicely. our accident in willow grove has cleared and the construction on the turnpike has cleared. good news, good news. let's check 422. more good news. overall the construction is clear. all lanes opened. looking pretty good 422 at 23. we do have construction out here blocking the left lane until further notice. this is in mercer county, business route one between maplewood avenue and lake drive so watch for the crews out there right now, tam. >> okay, thank you, karen. it is a great day to travel today but it's a good bet that tomorrow is going to be a very different story.
several airlines are already reacting to the coming snowstorm easing restrictions on their change fees. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live at philadelphia international airport where today is probably great, tomorrow you'll have a lot of friends waiting, katherine. >> reporter: that's right, tam. we've been speaking to passengers this morning and they're pretty happy to be getting out of town before the weather hits. tomorrow there is supposed to be snow so a number of airlines are giving passengers the opportunities to change their flights before the weather hits. and as we take a live look here at philadelphia international airport, you can see that security lines look pretty light here right now between terminals d and e. people are getting through just fine and again once again, very happy to be leaving before there are issues with travel. a lot of travel alerts from airlines started coming out yesterday. american posted a list with a number of cities that could be affected and included philadelphia, allentown, baltimore, and the new york airports just to list a few. if you're traveling t or from a
city on the list and you're supposed to travel tomorrow passengers will be able to change their tickets without having to pay an extra fee. we have seen similar travel advisories in effect for on the airlines including jetblue delta and southwest. at this point we haven't seen such advisories on frontier or spirit's web site but as usual it is best to check with your airlines before you head out to the airport. good luck, everybody. we're live at philadelphia international airport, katherine scott, channel6 "action news. tam. >> okay, thank you, katherine. you don't just need luke. a reminder you've got us as well. we'll be here a half hour earlier tomorrow morning. join us for team coverage of the snowstorm. we'll also have any school closings, all of that for you starting at 4:00 a.m. >> ♪ >> brand new here, the search is on for a main line credit card thief. lower merion say the thief a woman seen here went on a shopping spree with another woman's stolen credit card. she and a male accomplice were last seen driving a black buick suv with heavy tinted windows. a bumbling armed robber in

showers but again, those are off to the east at this point. how about your temperature? you step outside is that the last thing you're thinking about this morning is snow. 60 degrees is your current number. winds out of the southwest at 12 miles per hour. so, a little breezy but very mild. if you are up in the northern areas, places like lehigh valley, even trenton as close as trenton you're still much cooler. some spots up north still in the 30's so there's a real line of demarcation between mild air in philadelphia and colder air to the north. we are all going to get milder over the next several hours, though, and stay that way for most of the day. some sunny breaks are possible out to the west. you see that on satellite. the big story today will be those mild temperatures and perhaps some record setting highs today. 57 degrees in philadelphia by 8 o'clock. 59 by 10 o'clock, 61 by noon. your high today in philadelphia 64. we're thinking we hit that early in the afternoon say about 1:30 or 2 o'clock and then we slide down to 52 by 6 o'clock. that's still nowhere near snow territory right. and that 64 is a record high
for the day. the old record 63 set back in the 20's. high temperatures across the region looking pretty good even in allentown where again you're starting out colder this morning. you should bounce back up to about 56 degrees for a high there and close to 60 in reading. 62 in trenton. 64 in millville and 60's down at the shore. as we take a look at future tracker6, this is the view at midnight tonight and the model is slowing down a little bit in terms of the arrival of snow. it now looks like most of it wants to hold off until after about 2 o'clock or 3 o'clock in the morning. there is a winter weather warning, a winter storm warning in the suburbs that kicks in at midnight and 4:00 a.m. closer to philadelphia. by 5:00 a.m. it looks like that snow is moving in. notice how it's rain initially down south. that's going to lower your snow totals down south a little bit but as we get through the rush hour 9:00 a.m. just about everybody seeing snow and we're beginning to change over even down at the shore plus these darker shades of green indicate some fairly steady snow. that steady snow still happening across a good portion of the region by 11:30
in the morning although the northern and western suburbs are beginning to taper off and it looks like the last of the snow showers weaker stuff gets off the coast around 2 o'clock or 3 o'clock in the afternoon. how much are we expecting out of this? we're bumping up the numbers a bit because the latest model projections are showing a big area vertical uplift which is going to be right over the northern areas in particular and that's going to enhance your snowfall so it looks like anywhere from four to 8-inches of snow is possible from areas south of philadelphia all the way up through the poconos with higher amounts possible the farther north you go. then there's the two to 4-inch band that goes through millville and areas close to atlantic city and a coating to an inch in areas farther south where again you're starting out with a lot of that rain. however, there is a big spread in the various models. sun in philadelphia have -- some in philadelphia have 4.3 others forecasting as high as 7-inches so there's a pretty big range. the heavier bands we get the better chance there will be of coverage on the roads. initially it might be tough because it's so mild today but
eventually you start to get this heavy snow and it's not going to matter. snow will start to cover roads. up in the lehigh valley one model that goes up to almost 9-inches and i do think the farther north you go -- i mean you can see how these numbers generally are higher. the farther north you go the higher snowfall you'll see. down the shore not as bad. some of the new models coming in are now in atlantic city going closer to three and a half inches, some down around two and less down in cape may. your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast today doesn't feel like snow at all. a record high of 64 degrees. and that snow holding off into the overnight hours as we showed you but we have snow in the morning through thursday tapering off during the afternoon a high of just 35 degrees and we very likely will have slippery road conditions in the morning for the morning commute and perhaps into about lunchtime. and then sun to clouds on friday, 32 degrees and a clipper comes in with a snow shower friday night. can't get rid of this stuff, right? some of that could still be falling as a rain or snow shower early saturday morning but then saturday afternoon we bounce back to 47 for a high.
