from the overnight rain that was kind enough to hold off until last night. you did get yesterday in without any rain. yesterday you saw it arrived and you see it in the process of departing. harrisburg, thunderstorms those appear to be kind of pushing off and away from us up towards the poconos. south jersey damp. philadelphia beginning to dry out. it does look like most of this push out of here by 9:00, or so, if you're in northern areas there's a chance that the rain on and off hangs on to later this morning maybe until midday. temperatures are in the upper 50s right now across the region him we'll get a high of 70. but probably not until late this afternoon, an afternoon spotty shower or even a thundershower possible, but i think most of you are a-okay once we get rid of the morning rain. when i step inside we'll look at how the rain evolves and get out of here and a warmup coming in

murphy. you may see rain for the early activities, it was raining earlier, but the rain has stopped. it should push out for the parades and ceremonies. larvets -- last night the fireworks lit up over the waterfront day at the penns landing. before the fireworks the u.s. air force band full spectrum played, people danced along from under their umbrella, not everyone came prepared with wet weather gear, but they made the best of it. >> i was not expecting the rain i came out with sandals, look, new invention, wearing socks with the sandal, bulls i did not expect -- because i did not expect the rain at all. i'm here to see the fireworks. >> reporter: today at penns landing they will be holding a ceremony at the vietnam war memorial not too far from here, that set to start at 12:30 p.m.

live in penns landing, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> thank you katherine fore that report. new this morning, two men were stabbed multiple times and one victim died from his injuries. police say the men were stabbed after 9:00 p.m. along the 3400 block of frankford avenue in port richmond section. the second victim was rushed to temple university hospital. police have not said anything about a motive or if they made any arrest. a 19-year-old is recovering after being shot several times in philadelphia's belmont plateau. the teen was at the popular picnic spot in fairmont park when he was shot 7 times. police rushed him to penn presbyterian hospital. he is listed in stable condition. no arrests have been made. a fire in north philadelphia has claimed the lives of two small children and their grandmother. it broke out in the row home on the 1700 block of north 6th street. intense flames quickly engulfed the structure trapping several

people inside. fire officials said the parents were so desperate to save one of the children they threw her out the window. the child was rushed to hanheman, but did not make. family members identified the three victims as 52-year-old me unique gill -- 52-year-old monique gillery and her two grandchildren. it is unclear if there were smoke detecters inside the home. 6:06 a.m. police are investigating a crash that injured a dirt bike rider that collided at when whitiker d wyoming. the man was thrown several feet and landed on a parked car. investigators have not said what caused the crash. new overnight british

police conducted two searches in connection with the manchester terror attack. they continue to make arrests. 14 men are being questioned about the deadly bombing. authorities in the uk have a thousand people working on the investigation. they are trying to track down salman abedi's accomplices and piece together as movements days before he detonated a bomb at the ariana grande concert. the explosion killed 22 people and 100 others were injured. the markets are closed in observance of memorial day. chipotle is sharing information about a cyber attack that happened in the spring. hackers took their name and credit cards and expiration dates and codes. the affected shops are listed on its website. they have successfully removed

hit by gunfire last night at 7th and van buren streets in wilmington. the two victims are in stable condition this morning. as of yet there have been no arrests. authorities in millville, cumberland county say the source of a strange odor was from a chlorine leak at the water pumping station. several people complained of a strong smell. haz/mat was dispatched to find a 150-pound cylinder used for water treatment leaking inside. air quality readings in the nearby neighborhoods showed there was never any danger to residents. >> we started taking readings and other than around the perimeter of the fence line of the pumping station we didn't have any readings in the residential areas. >> crews gave the all clear after they shut off the cylinder and ventilated the building. >> reporter: let's go over over to david murphy and find out the right time to set things up.

>> reporter: probably getting there in philadelphia. storm tracker 6 live double scan shows you most of the overnight rain has moved off to the east. there are a couple of additional sprinkles and showers, some of them opened up in new castle county delaware most of us them are small. the bulk of the rain pushing north and east of surf city and belmawr. you have the cluster of precipitation between reading and allentown. some of it dipping down into northern chester and northern montgomery counties and heading toward northern and central bucks county before too much longer. i think by 9:00 a.m. most of that is out of here. the additional stuff probably tracks farther to the north. sky6 live hd there's the airport, things are drying out at the airport now. we had a wet airfield a little while ago when we looked at this an hour or an hour and a half ago, drying out now. 59 degrees in philadelphia. winds are light out of the northeast at 9 miles per hour. everybody on or about 60 degrees. future tracker 6 shows you between now up to 9:00 a.m. most

of the area begins to dry out. it's the northern areas that might be looking at a passing shower or rumble of thunder. by the time we get up to 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:00, most of the area is drying out best chance of a lingering shower up north. the rest of the afternoon features clouds giving way to sunny breaks. while we can't rule out a spotty shower or thundershower in the afternoon it looks like a pretty small chance. most of you once we get past 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., should be night for the ceremonies, by 10:00 p.m. partly to mostly cloudy skies. temperatures will struggle today. 57 degrees by 8:00 a.m. 59 by 10:00 a.m. noon, 61. as late as 3:00 p.m., mid 60s in philadelphia. we're going for a milder high of 70. but we may not hit that until 5:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. high temperatures across the region, mid 60s in allentown. upper 60s in trenton and reading. over to the south and west warmer.

port richmond section of of of e city. the family made the gruesome discovery on clear field street. one victim 54-year-old man. the other known as miss tina, a beloved member of the community. >> if was random out of all the people in the world she didn't bother anybody. neighbors say she knew something was wrong when her usual seat on the steps was empty. there's been a freak accident at the new york famed fleet week. a navy seal died when his parachute failed to open. this is video of the detached parachute in between buildings in jersey jersey city. he cut loose and fell into the hudson. he was part of the elite navy team parachute called the leap
