accidents. tam. >> we're going to breaking news. two women are in the hospital with bullets wounds after someone fired several shots into their southwest philadelphia home. this going on while a toddler was present. katherine scott is live outside of southwest detectives with the very latest. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. the two women are in stable condition at penn presbyterian hospital. there was a 3-year-old girl inside the home at the time. she was not injured in all this. police don't know the motive here, but they believe the house was targeted. there were 14 shots, 14 bullet holes concentrated in and around the front door. let's go to video from the scene in southwest philadelphia overnight where you see derbies investigating overnight and gathering evidence. this happened shortly before 2:00 a.m. on the 5400 block of hatfield street. the 40-year-old resident was shot in the stomach. the 36-year-old friend was hit in the thigh.

officers were able to speak with the victims. the two women were inside the home when they heard loud banging on the front door. one woman looked out the peephole and 14 shots were fired, ten shots through the front door, two through the doorjamb and another two through the siding. each woman was hit once, the bullets tore through the furniture and the ceiling. there was a 3-year-old girl inside at the time somewhere in the house, we don't know where, she was not injured. police believe the shots were fired from across the street. >> due to the fact there were so many strike marks ten on the front door to the property, two on the wall next to the property that entered the house. appears that the shooter intentionally was shooting into the house him priority -- prior to the shots being fired. occupants heard loud banging on the door. >> police did initially count 12 bullet holes in and around the front door, the number was

increased to 14 bullet holes. at this point again, the motive is under investigation. they are reviewingage from nearby surveillance cameras. the shots appear to be fired from across the street. they do not have a detailed description of the suspect. they believe he was wearing a mask. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> let's get to breaking news an explosion went on a train at a subway station in london. you're looking at aerial photos. british authorities are treating this as an act of terror. people at the subway green parson station are sharing pictures on social media. they say the sound set off a stampede during the height of the morning rush. no fatalities, but some were injured in the blast, while others were trampled in the pandemonium. an official said this is an isolated incident. london has been targeted with

several terror attacks this year, people are jittery. stay with "action news" an 6abc.com for updates. a racially charged incident is under the investigation on the campus of temple university. african-american students tell officials they came home to find this banana on the door handle on the dorm room of morgan hall this week. they happen to be the only black students on the floor according one of the roommates. temple senior director sent a letter discouraging the behavior. one of the students tell "action news" the school plans to discipline whoever is responsible and temple is working to make the targeted students feel comfortable on campus again. it's been a week since hurricane irma hit the florida keys. all these days later people are not able to to go back to their homes and more than 2 million people in florida don't have

power. a criminal investigation is underway at a nursing home in south florida where 8 elderly patients died on wednesday. the nursing home felt like an oven having gone three days with no power or air-conditioning. in the virgin islands volunteers are trying to address the salute devastation because of hurricane irma. there's no water or electricity on st. john. female employees are suing google for paying people based on on their gender. maribel aber has more. three former google works are suing the tech giants they claim they were placed in lower level jobs and male workers with similar qualifications leading to lower pay. they are denied promotions leading to better career

new update to the breaking news out of london. metropolitan police are confirming this is a terror attack on the subway. this is a view of the station at the parsons green station in southwest london. you can see the emergency workers and police on the lower station. there were flames, but the device did not fully explode. injuries are reported, some from the explosion and some from people stampeding to get away from the scene. there's no word of any fatalities. prime minister teresa may will hold an emergency cabinet meeting later this morning. london mayor's is urging people to remain calm and vigilant. >> karen rogers has traffic. >> reporter: good morning, we have a big problem no

ambushed by gunfire. let's get to katherine scott live at southwest detectives with the latest, katherine. >> reporter: matt, there's two women in the hospital right now in stable condition. there was a 3-year-old inside the home at the time she was not injured in all this. police say that's lucky, because there were 14 shots fired in and around the front door, let's go to video from southwest philadelphia overnight where you can see police on the scene gathering evidence. this happened shortly before 2:00 a.m. police say two women a 40-year-old who lives there and her 36-year-old friend were inside a home on the 5400 block of hatfield street when they heard loud banging on the door. one of the woman walked over and -- women walked over and look out the peephole when 14 shots were fired through the front door. police were called and they took the woman to penn presbyterian.
