tonight and first lets get the latest from accuweather and meteorologist, cecily tynan. what is the story? >> double scan live radar showing this snow draped across pennsylvania, it has not started to progress eastward and probably won't until after midnight. the problem is that during the morning commute for most of the area it's snowing. it's already started snowing lightly in the northern and lehigh valley and northern berks. and the band has not started to work eastward yesterday and will gradually as this system feeds in with the moisture from the developing low offshore. temperatures show it will take a while for the snow to start, it's going start as rain in philadelphia. 40 right now and trenton 38 and millville 36 and cape may 40 and ins allentown and reading it's 32 degrees all snow there. a winter weather advisory is

posted northern of the pennsylvania turnpike and this is where we expect the highest the poconos could get 4 to 6 inches of snow. but the timing impacts. philadelphia northwest snowing until 8:00 in the morning and roads are snowy and slippery. south jersey and delaware starts as rain and changes over to snow at the end and the roads are wet and could be freezing rain i'll talk total and what is behind the system during the accuweather forecast. >> we seem to be getting a lot of rush hour snowfall. lets switch live to walter perez. >> reporter: well jim, all is quiet at this hour in west reading a coating or so fell in this region earlier this morning but most of it has since melted away but it's not over yet. >> round one came through the

lehigh valley this morning leaving an inch of snow in spots. >> there was some on the roadways in the lehigh valley and up north in the poconos got a little worse. so it did create for slick conditions. but we did have crews out there and crews on shifts throughout the day into tomorrow. >> the timing left something to be desired. with much of it arrives during the morning rush. there were weather related accidents in the lehigh valley. and more in berks coins and now with round two on the way penndot crews are loading up for another long night of salting and sanding and plowing depending on location and snow total, we spoke to people in west reading that say they can live with the snow but the unusually cold weather is wearing them out. >> i got my gas bill the highest it has ever been. the average temperature here last year 36 and this year 26. >> last year it was unusually

vernon odom, channel 6 "action news" in trenton. jury selection is now underway for the upcoming federal corruption trial of allentown mayor, ed pawlowsky. he is accused of accepting campaign contributions in exchange for city business. open statements are scheduled for monday in allentown and the democrat was sworn in for a fourth term earlier this month. >> police release a sketch a man wanted for a gun point rape in august. it's not based on the victim's description but on dna. we'll show you how investigators develop the sketch. >> we'll take to you south philadelphia where eagles players and coaches are focused on overcoming the minnesota vikings. >> it should be mild for the eagles game on sunday. but we have some snow that will gradually move in here overnight

wanted poster at a news concerns this afternoon. >> through relatively new technology we can try to put a face on the dna evidence that we have in the case. >> the new technology is called fino typing. and it was sent to the lap in virginia and using the dna scientists can determine the suspect's ancestry and possible appearance. >> using thousands of comparisons of dna this is a prediction of what the suspect looks like. >> the suspect's dna determines he is 52% european and 45% african. that 50/50 mix of african and european ancestry is rare and possibly a parent of european decent and the dna can't determine the exact hair style and tattoos and scars and weight.

>> predictions are at a default age of 25 and sounds appropriate in this case. >> the teenager was attacked from behind on stoney creek road by a man that held a black semi automatic gun in his right hand and described him as a black man in his early 30s. and was wearing a sweater shirt on an 80 degree day. >> this put a face on the rape suspect with the hopes that someone may recognize him and call detectives. a $10,000 reward is offered for information and the arrest of this suspect. future police and military members tested a new training tool in pilesgrove salem county. the called a milo simulator it allows students to practice emergency situations that test their critical thinking and

the phillies report to spring training in four weeks and a couple of players were at the ballpark to meet with the media and they are pulling hard for the birds. >> as a fan, you know that is what we with long for a winning product and the eagles have done a really good job over the last couple of years to build what they have. and to see that culminate into this year and what they are able to do overcoming injuries, it's awesome for the city. and like i said the buzz that is around, hopefully is here to stay. >> it's an incredible feeling and to see the city embracing these guys and what they are doing is really a cool thing and i think we are striving to do the same thing. flyers and rangers from new york. the flyers are streaking four wins in a row and the rangers are not. they lost 7 of their past 10 games. >> it's not good they haven't been winning as much as early in the season but to think they are

the road at the same time. it's the timing that is the problem. the calm before the storm. it's not going to be a big storm but we are live taking a look over the ben franklin bridge. the river rink at penn's landing on this mild day. made it up to 45 degrees and light snow across the lehigh valley. and berks county most of the day. and stormtracker 6 live double scan showing the band of snow is advancing eastward. and it kind of links up as an inverted trough that helps pull in moisture and helps to spread the snow east after midnight and could begin at rain in philadelphia and areas south and east. we have a snowy start to wednesday and once we get rid of this system. the sunny stretch starts on thursday and we look at temperatures climbing up into the 50s for the weekend and actually an extended thaw is

moving in and beach haven 37 and cape may 40 and allentown reading and lancaster, 32 degrees these areas dealing with a band of snow. stormtracker 6 live double scan showing it's not a lot, northern lehigh valley and northern berks county and not moving easiest through the evening hours, but the snow up there gets heavier and after midnight. when the moisture advances to the east. temperatures gradually are cooling and allentown 27 for the low. philadelphia 30 and millville 32 and right around the shore temperatures likely above freezing, future tracker 6 timing it out at 11:00. lots of clouds in philadelphia. could have a little bit of rain and the snow confined across the lehigh valley and berks county and lancaster. 3:00 the this is when the snow line begins to advance through philadelphia and the i-95

corridor. and notice south jersey just raining and temperatures start to crash as we head through the morning. this is the latest model shows the snow is lifting out. and a few lingering snow showers and the sunshine is back by the afternoon. this is really a quick hit of snow not talking about much south jersey and delaware, nothing more than a few wet snowflakes after rain and interior south jersey into northern newcastle county and northern kent county a coating to an inch and the i-95 corridor a slushy inch possible north of philadelphia. north of quakertown and allentown and reading. 2 to 4 inches. 4 to 6 inches across the poconos, so really where you live determines what you get. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, very early snow and sunshine is back by the afternoon and 45 is the high. and mostly sunny on thursday and 37. and temperatures warm heading into the weekend, friday mostly sunny and 43 and clouds move in

but mild on saturday. and sunday 56 degrees plenty of clouds and kickoff temperature for the eagles game probably 48 degrees, still pretty warm and monday our next system cuts to the west and that brings us rain a high of 54 degrees and tuesday clouds mixing with sun and a high of 45 degrees, i'm getting more information about the snow i'll have details on that at 11:00.
