"early today" starts right now. it's good to be with you. i'm frances rivera. we begin this wednesday morning with breaking news on a deadly and destructive weather in the south. there are at at least confirmed fatalities after a tornado tore through southern alabama. nbc's bill cairns is talk about the threat. is it still over? >> no, it's not over yet. we are dealing with a tornado watch in areas of southern tennessee. the worst of it overnight had been earlier in areas of mississippi. then it shifted into alabama overnight. as far as the reports go, as of now, we have about 85 reports of either wind damage or tornado. so far we're at 27 reports of tornadoes and it looks like the

desk. >> we got this breaking news. this comes out of alabama where three people we learned are dead after a tornado ripped through the northern part of the state there. now take a look at this video we got. you can see this truck turned on its side. lots and lots of damage. similar scenes like this. 15 to 20 trucks were destroyed including a church and a gas station. many trees broke non half. power li roofs just ripped off the houses. three people died. they were inside a mobile home. unclear at this point is what is going to happen now. alabama is cleaning up. and this is breaking news. >> take a look at the traffic here. low visibility coming in. >> we came in from two different directions, a lot of fog around
