welcome back. i'm dave feldman. at about 1:07 p.m. jason campbell was probably
11:16 pm
thinking to himself, manual, i wish the day -- man, i wish the day could have started over. at 2:00 p.m. he really needed a mulligan. he threw not one, not two but three interceptions all to the same guy. he also had a fumble. this from a guy who the skins tried to trade and draft around so campbell must be thinking what in the wide, wide world of sports do i need to do to catch a break. >> reporter: jason campbell at his press conference said this is the worst game he has ever played. he said even in peewee football he never threw three interceptions in one game. today he found himself two minutes into the game losing a fumble. his team was already down 7-0 and the fans at fed ex field had begun to boo. >> i was like, we're inoue -- if we don't pull this one off, i don't know what we're going to do on monday. we might as well hibernate for the rest of the week. i was thinking what can we do to pull it together and that's what you do.
11:17 pm
you don't fuss. you don't get frustrated and start arguing with each other and get down each other's throat. at half me guys were calm. patient. everyone was like do your own job at the second half to win this game. >> i think the best thing that really happened today was us sticking with jason after three turnovers. today i think he really grew to be a leader of this team sticking with it. it was great to see him continuously swinging the ball and coming off the field without having an excuse for the interception. >> reporter: clinton portis had his best running game of the season. 98 yards, a couple yards shy of the 100 mark which he hasn't reached in nine consecutive games. but it's not the yardage that's important. it's the "w ." at fed ex field, lindsay murphy, fox 5 sports.
11:18 pm
>> lindsay, thanks. despite falling behind, the redskins don't abandon the run. they keep giving it to clinton portis. lindsay mentioned the 98 yards a season high. he also rushed 25 times. that was a season high. not bad for a guy who is listed as questionable with a bad quad. >> guys wanted when me to cay the team. guys wanted to put it on our back. i think the offensive line wanted to go out and run the ball. guys are like, come on, we've got to get going. for the coaches to come out and stick with the run, i think it was a great feeling. >> time for our geico 15 minutes of fame. it goes to the kicker. sean suisham who was doing the double duty. a long of 32 yards. his last punt inside the 20- yard line. he made his lone field goal
11:19 pm
from 42 yards out. he made the other one but your honor our geico 15 minutes of fame for his punting. >> you have much more respect for the ys that do that, you know. it's no easy skill. >> reporter: how did you grade yourself today as a punter? >> we won the game. we won the game. >> he's a likable guy. when we return, broncos and cowboys, denver the host of the rockies. perfect so far but would they stay that way tonight against big d. more and more,
