next. let's get right to it. four days away from election day. i knew we were going to play the final countdown. belted to the air >> it is >> let's talk about the polls >> as you can see here on the side of your screen, it is one of tonight's talkers we want you to join the conversation with us, tweet us throughout the newscast. use #5at630 let us know what's on your mind. the latest show hillary clinton has a slim lead over donald trump but it's a little bit of a different story in key battleground states >> joining us is cliff young who is president of i, so public
6:31 pm
>> what's going on here? we're talking battleground the states that weren't before. what are we going to be focusing on? >> for all of you out there, if you're kind of looking at the election, you want to know what are those milestone, those indicators? there's three states, florida, ohio and north carolina, the election map is difficult for trump and he has to win those three states to even be competitive from an election tore relay >> we have seen recently president obama, michelle obama have been in north carolina for hillary clinton but we know they're going to end up in philadelphia, is is there something going on that we should be keeping an eye on? they're going to end with a rally on monday >> that's a great point. and why is that the case? first and foremost, they're in north carolina, they think they can take it. it has been trending blue. once again, if north carolina goes blue, it's going to be a very, very long night for trump.
6:32 pm
or went to or will go to pennsylvania is that the polls have narrowed there, trump has been very active. they've been really pushing antiobamacare and it had effect >> we've talked bow bow the down races. in north carolina you have a senate race, in pennsylvania you have a senate race, ohio is a senate race. are these going to be the cases where as go trump, as goes the republicans and? is there going to be coat tails here >> typically there's more coat tails with house races so does the house or at the very least the trend is like that, when it comes to senate races they're much more id yo sin carotic. the democrats have a good chance of taking the senate based on our i, so forecasting modelling we think it will go democratic by a seat or two and that's one of the reasons that we have all
6:33 pm
states just to push that a little bit more for their side >> what are the chances we could see a 50-50 split? i've seen models that suggest it might end up that way with the vice president whomever that might be >> very high. our model is 50-50, one seat to the democrats, it could go either way. either way. the house on the other hand will stay republican but we expect based on our forecasting models that they will lose probably between 20 and 25 seats, maybe a ten to republican >> let me take you back to the battleground state of ohio, it's been said that the road to the white house goes through ohio. we know hillary clinton is planning a bill rally an big concert trying to fire millenials and black voters, we've been hearing those people are not coming out in droves like they did for president obama. millennials and black voters.
6:34 pm
african-american, the turn-out was down, it's not as high as obama. obama pushed them up over last two election cycles. millenials typically don't show up. typically the average turn-out is about 44% among millennials or young people. among the older it's 60, 65, it's an important base for the democrats >> world series game 7 went to about 1:00 in the morning,xt innings, are we going to see extra innings coming up tuesday >> thank you, i'm a cubs fan, from chicago. fly the w, fly the w, i have it on my car and my house. but it could. but once again, i think we could know very early on what's going on focus on north carolina. north carolina will be a very, very important bell to weather that night will be a clinton night or if trump has a chance.
6:35 pm
to be north carolina >> of course, i'll repeat myself again, we need to look at ohio, florida and north carolina. probably ohio and florida go republican. they go trump. north carolina traditionally historically has been republican, it's been trending blue and trump needs it to put together any sort of reasonable competitive >> when we talk about north carolina, one issue was the so-called bathroom bill and that was a hot topic, you have a governor in the fight of his attorney general who said he backs the idea of repeeling this bill in the first place. is it going to come back to the bathroom bill argument that may decide these races in north carolina? >> it's a possible wedge issue driving people to the polls, programs. it's been changing dramatically. a lot of people coming down and my greating to the research triangle which has a lot of high tech industries and universities but definitely the bathroom issue could be a wedge issue
6:36 pm
>> i hope you get rest, maybe come next wednesday. >> i'll be here. thank you. >> thank you. the polls started tightening after fbi director james comey sent the letter informing them about new e-mails that may be relevant to the investigation into into hillary clinton's private server >> since then we heard about fbi leak, a prominent dropped a bombshell when it the campaign was tipped off, i tald molly riley. >> mayor giuliani is one of trump biggest supporters and he has been saying for months that he has people he talks to in the fbi that are angry and upset. all of leaks we've seen come out in the last week have really indicated that that is the case. and so what this giuliani story there is an antihillary component within the fbi that is upset with how the investigation went and they want that
6:37 pm
public. he was a us attorney, he has worked with the fbi decades. as mayor, he has a big relationship with them, i think it is somewhat surprising to hear that's someone who has that that role. at the same time, giuliani has felt his reputation as as a trump surrogate is someone who is a little bit off-the-cuff, will go off message. given that, it might not be that surprising >> he's been quite vocal in this race, one surrogate from the new york, new jersey area went see much o he's of other issues other at least people around him. a lot of people were stunned by this revelation, he said it on fox friends that the campaign may be getting this information, one thing a lot have been saying can he do this? can he talk about it? >> can we get in trouble? >> we asked molly about that >> giuliani is free to say this is what happened but it really speaks to a break in protocol at the agency and i think that the really what the focused is going to be on.
6:38 pm
days before the election. i think the clinton campaign going to put up a big fight over this. they're going to highlight the giuliani had this information ahead of time, what and what that mean, i think we'll hear a lot about this in the days before the campaign ends. this is far from over. democrats have called for a probe into what exactly is going on at the fbi, why leaks are coming out now. i think we'll be hearing about this long after tuesday. >> i agree. the other thing i think will be interesting if wins, it will be interesting to see what sort of relationship she will then have with the fbi. there's been a lot of questions of whether she would ask him to resign. he has a ten year term >> if hillary clinton wins how many hold overs will she getting will loretta lynn stay on? they could be butting heads, there's one them go? do both? it's one of those things, this
6:39 pm
distraction because people are getting used to this idea, maybe we can shake up the government there. that could be one of the reasons why it could work in trump favor, we shall see. couple days. >> four. four days. as the race for the white house, guess what the weather has >> let's check in with gwen tolbert for a look at that forecast. gwen friday. >> tgif. i'll be here the next couple days, staying up to date on the forecast for everybody. you know what? you're right. today, things are taking a reverse, we're cooling down and getting a reality check. for tomorrow, we'll be into the 60's. we hit 83 yet. . record high. but we're getting the reality right now. and we're going to have plenty of sunshine. for everything who hasn't gotten out to the polls and make sure you vote. here's the election day forecast. it's going to be facing at 68 of mostly sunny skies. and that seven-day forecast is
6:40 pm
across the board, i have no rain to talk about whatsoever. and the temperatures a little bit up and down. now, remember on sunday night before you go to bed turn those clocks back an hour, officially it's going to be 2:00 a.m. before you go to bed it will be great. we'll gain an hour of sleep. 66 by sunday. slightly warmer. we cool down and warming right back up by election day and as we head into the end of the week, we see things start to cool down a little bit and then the reverse all over again. important veterans day. 64 degrees, we got a for you clouds, but the good news is it's going to be a dry day for all those ceremonies that we know are going to be taking part outside. so not a bad forecast. the weather is looking great. and hopefully you'll get out and enjoy it. it's a great day to tomorrow and sunday get out and check out the foliage. back to you. >> good idea. thank you >> she is gwen and approves this forecast. have you voted?
6:41 pm
absentee and early voters are breaking records >> don't forget to tweet us, keep it going asking people before is there anything that could change your mind before tuesday? use that #5at630 and we're back after this. after all donald trump has said and done... she ate like a pig. you can do anything. i moved on her like a [bleep] ...trump's just so disgusting and degrading. it just seems like he's invaded our lives. and he's the republican nominee for president. and now republican congresswoman comstock is trying to run away from trump? i mean, come on.
