i don't want my granddaughter thinking it's okay to be... treated that way, and my grandson growing up thinking... that's how you should treat women. that scares me, that scares me a lot. so hillary's got my vote. we don't see eye to eye on everything, but she's strong, and i respect her. and she's someone that my grandkids can respect too. im hillary clinton and i approve this message. carson and i have seen some terrible ads attacking our mom

6:13 am
they've been to europe, and the paci >>laura: they have been to europe, they've been to the pacific, they've served their country and until yesterday, many of them have never seen the monuments built in their honor and she's veterans just got back. we're looking at pictures and some video they sent back. vets say the trip will hold a special place in their hearts also. make the trip possible. four years ago he started what he called the superhero fun run, an event where people dress up like comic book heros to raise money for the real heros and he raised over $40,000 and he said he's not stopping any time soon. allen hopes he can raise enough money to send more veterans to washington. >>russell: so young but knows how important that is. that's great. >>laura: dave, we'll get to you.
6:14 am
>>russell: yes, sir. >>dave: a couple more days. just a couple more days. we're halfway through the work week here. i have a couple of sprinkles on skytower radar. as we shifted the winds to more of east-northeast, we had a northeast wind the past couple of weeks, get more of an easterly component to it and that brings a couple of showers along the east coast but as they work their way west, i'm going to point out this one, for instance, south of the orlando area about to go over the florida start to fall apart. so the rain chances very, very low. in fact, you may see a sprinkle or two inland and that will probably be about it. i noticed a couple of quick sprinkles around ocala this morning. maybe northeast citrus county gets one or two of those. you can't buy a raindrop in november around here typically. it's the driest month of the year. even though we have a front coming through on friday, we'll not get a lot of rain with that, either. mid to upper 60s.
6:15 am
yesterday at this time. lower 70s back to the coastline. here we go. two to about four degrees warmer overall except up around leesburg where it's eight degrees warmer. crystal river, seven. still think, though, it all averages in the afternoon to get back to what i call seasonably warm levels and high temperatures in the mid 80s. as long as these dew points can hang here for the next couple of days, which i think they will, keeping the humidity in the moderate category, again, it will be late in the friday. that is when you really are going to start to notice that big difference. so here are a few sprinkles, especially north, working their way off to the west. a cold front to the northwest and so far, high pressure has been anchored off the carolina coastline and behind this front, we do obviously have cooler air but it's not a massive cooldown. typically when these fronts slide southeastward, the colder air behind them tends to modify a bit.
6:16 am
talking about knocking high temperatures down three or four degrees, maybe five. low temperatures down a little bit more than that so it's going to be a noticeable cold front. it's going to be awesome weather but it's not going to be like, oh, my gosh. here comes the cold stuff of the not yet. it's not that time. mostly sunny, seasonably warm, 7:42. the one thing i'm not going to miss by turning the clocks back is this late sunrise. love to have sunrise early it will be at 6:45 by sunday. i know i'm jumping ahead of myself there. mostly clear, mild today, low 65 degrees. tomorrow 84 as we continue with the warmth. boaters, moderate chop with seas running two feet and the northeast wind. next seven days, look at the difference. 81 on friday. just a quick little 20% rain chance. mid to upper 70s for highs saturday and sunday. oh, gosh. let's just bring that to monday and tuesday as well.
6:17 am
looking forward to it, dave. and i agree with you about the sunrise, too. i'm looking at my cameras and they're darker than they usually are later in the morning. right now speaking of the cameras, we've got a live look for you. this is near the sunshine skyway bridge, areas north of the south fishing pier where everything is running up to speed and a bit north of there as well, you can see we have great travel times for you. 275. southbound direction between kennedy boulevard and pin he will as southbound 75, eight minute drive, fowler avenue to the expressway. enjoy. russell? >>russell: thanks. 6:17. a deadly pipeline blast is now sparking fears of potential gas shortages and price hikes at the pump across portions of the u.s. blast in alabama shut down a key pipeline that supplies gas to
6:18 am
>>reporter: flames continuing to burn in shelby county, alabama after a fatal pipeline explosion there on monday. it appears a piece of construction equipment hit the pipeline and killed one worker, injuring five others. >> doing a job on the colonial pipeline accidentally engaged with the pipe which caused an explosion. >>reporter: explosion shut down line to millions across the southeastern u.s. this deadly incident is the second to shut down the pipeline in just two months. a leak in september led to gas shortages and rising prices across the south. federal officials on scene say that monday's incident happened as contractors were working on repairs realed to last month's leak. >> it was a backhoe. they were getting ready to do another repair on the line we had an incident on earlier.
6:19 am
will likely shut down the rest of the week. >> this is a tragic accident. we had a contractor out there we've used for many years excavating over the top of a pipeline. this contractor has done this many, many times before. so exactly what happened, how it happened, whether there were steps that were missed, these are all things we'll be investigating. >>reporter: pipeline provides close t gasoline. >>laura: hunter is a student at kansas state university. he left his car door unlocked for a few minutes and when he came back, he noticed that his kitkat was missing and this inspect kin was in the place. saw a kitkat in the cup holder. i love them. i did not take anything other
6:20 am
he shared the note on twitter. he said no hard feelings. he thinks it's funny. you have to give him a break, don't you? >>russell: got to do what? >>laura: got to give him a break. >>russell: just break off a piece. >>laura: only at college. >>russell: the president of the ymca is offering up free child care while parents vote election day. >>laura: there are problems with this idea, some big ones, too. alcides segui is going to explain coming up at 6:30 and looks like a monster and it was caught on video in alaska. but what is it? it's not even an animal. more an illusion. more an illusion. the exp i'm afraid you're suffering from fobo. more an illusion. the exp fobo? fobo. fobo... fear of better options. cure fobo with black friday savings now.

6:23 am
it's time to see what's clicking on the web. >>laura: welcome back. time to see what's clicking on the web. >>jennifer: we've seen a historic grand slam. there is more to chicago cubs short stop russell. he's got moves on and off the field. take a look at this. he is a moon walking machine. just as game six was starting,
6:24 am
addison dancing in the dugout. and there may be some magic in the moon walk because he got a grand slam in the third inning. >>laura: he did. >>jennifer: and that hasn't happened in a world series since 2005. >>laura: pretty good. >>russell: yes. >>jennifer: and the planetarium in chicago getting in on the fever. they attached the w flag to a weather balloon and flew it to the edge of space. it who don't know to fly the w victory flag after every win at home. the horizons team did it also as a way to honor their 1 #00th mission. they posted it to facebook. they said, quote, the w has never flown higher. it's actually not the highest the w has ever flown. back in 2007, american astronaut flew the w aboard the international space station.
6:25 am
switching gears, this caught on video by an employee at the bureau of land management in alaska. what is it? it appears to be a large sea monster. doesn't it? come on. it does. slithering through the water maybe, covered in ice. the organization posted it to its facebook page asking people what they thought it could be. a huge shark, a giant alligator. nope. the answer is a lot less thrilling. according to t department of fish and game, it is just ice stuck to a rope that is cause on a bridge pier. and in the current, the rope appears to be slithering. no sea monsters here. >>laura: it does look like. and there's something much larger under the surface. that's the illusion, too. what is that? >>jennifer: a group of sky divers celebrated a day of the dead in a cool way.
6:26 am
makeup, go pro athlete and his crew went sky diving in mexico tuesday. sky diver said it was the perfect way to honor the mexican holiday, which is a day to remember friends and family members who have died. beautiful. >>laura: wow. that's one word for it. >>russell: look at that. >>laura: thank you, jen. stay with us. straight from the mouth of about what must be done to break the curse tonight. >>russell: and free child care while you vote. is it too good to be true? >>reporter: depends on where you're going to go, right? y ymca, the u.s.a., ymca says free child care. go vote on election day. hold on. your local ymca chapters are still trying to figure out if still trying to figure out if that's a good idea.

complaints for the big roadways. no crashes on the interstate systems that are causing lane blockage. we're taking a live look at i-4 in the area of the hillsborough 301 area. looks like we're starting to pick up a little bit with the volumes out there but so far, so good with the travel times. don't forget, we're following this out of pasco. westbound lanes are blocked following a crash at the intersection with grand club drive so make sure you're planning extra time for detours. best one is going hill drive. >>russell: we are following a fox 13 news alert out of des moines, iowa. we've learned that two police separate ambush style attacks. they were both sitting in the cruisers when someone came up and shot them. these attacks happened about 20 minutes apart. >>russell: investigators are right now working on a description of the shooter as the search continues. the chief of police just held a very emotional news conference
6:32 am
between the shooter and the officers. it appears that the person just shot them while they were sitting in their cruisers. we'll continue to follow the manhunt for the shooter all morning right here on "good day." >>russell: reports of drug use and drinking did not stop miami dade commissioners from renaming the park. they did not address the superboat crash. they did discuss the positives he did for the community. after a boat was objected. >>laura: seminole county elections officials say that bat on thes were stolen from five homes. none of them were counted but two were flagged and set aside because the signatures did not match the ones on file with the elections office. officials say there's no indication that this is a widespread issue. one issue some parents might have is getting to the polls on
6:33 am
find time to vote early or you prefer to vote on the beg day, finding time can be a struggle. and alcides segui is live at the ymca on himes in tampa. some locations are offering free child care november 8 but it turns out there may be some problems here, right? >>reporter: yeah. i think that's what they're trying to figure out. here is the thing. "usa today" did a story on this a couple of days ago and local ymca's are still trying to figure out if providing something they're even able to do. for example, one here in south tam park the ymca off himes avenue, i'm not completely sure they're going to participate in this type of service. i do know of two different locations that are. one of them is in north pinellas county. that's in more specifically in the palm harbor area. they're going to be providing child care on election day the entire day. and here's the thing. it's free service. you don't have to be a member at all.
6:34 am
children and it's up to an hour and a half. the other location that is also going to be providing this service is in hernando county. more specifically, in spring hill. it's their ymca in spring hill. it's only from 5:00 to 8:00 but remember, it's only allowed for an hour and a half before you have to come and pick up your children. but again, not every ymca is doing this. there are a lot of things that go into play here. first, is this a good idea for the local chapter? secondly, do they have enough employees? and then the third issue here is, you know, is there enough space for your local ymca to have all the children under one roof? on friday the ymca of the u.s.a. offered child care so parents can go out and vote on november 8. the y president said election day is arguably one of the most important days in the u.s. this year and the ultimate opportunity for americans to make their voices heard through the democratic process which is
6:35 am
argue that. but here is the thing. your local ymca is not regulated by the national chapter. so while the ymca of the u.s.a. says they're offering this, the ultimate decision here is up to the individual ymca so this one may not be providing it but the one up north is and, you know, every ymca is regulated by the individual that's under that roof specifically, not the national chapter. so they're all out is this a good idea? do they have enough employees? and is there enough space to hold all the children under one roof? so your best bet, a, go to our website at and b, contact your local ymca to see if they're providing the service. at the end, i don't think there's any question, it's a good idea. but b, the issue is, is there enough space? is there enough employees? back to you. >>laura: thank you. >>russell: 6:35.
6:36 am
six of the world series. final score 9-3. that means they will face off one last time. game seven tonight in cleveland. it has been a series filled with historic moments. only fitting since one of these times will break a long standing world series drought tonight. >>laura: it has been a series to watch. the latest record belongs to addison russell. what a night he had. the infielder hit a grand slam last night. it's the first for the cubs. here he is talking moment. >> surprised, you know. rounding the bases, a lot of emotion was going through my head. just happy it came tonight. >> it's been a very well contested series. both sides have played really good baseball. they have been outstanding pitching, they've been outstanding pitching all year. all of a sudden, our offense is having a resurgence which we need. of course we want to be the
6:37 am
it's just correct and apt that we would go seven games. >>laura: and you heard it there from joe maddon, the man who moved to chicago. he has a 50-50 shot tonight. and you can watch game seven tonight right here on fox 13. first pitch goes out just after 8:00. >>russell: lightning have napped a three-game losing streak. two goals and two assists, bay beat new york 6-1. bolts are now fourth in the atlantic division. >>laura: and the first college football playoff rankings were unveiled last night and they look as you would expect except for one position. the committee picked the one
6:38 am
lower on the list, gators are ranked at 11. at 22, the florida state seminoles. this is the first of six rankings to be unveiled. championship game will be here in tampa on january 9. >>russell: hundreds of jobs up for grabs today in tampa. we'll tell you where and when to go for a big job fair. >>laura: and how many times have you wanted to send an emoji of a manatee? you couldn't find one? i have that problem all lowry park zoo wants to change that. the very serious message, the very serious message, though, behind hillary clinton: i'm hillary clinton and i approve this message. vo: in times of crisis america depends on steady leadership. donald trump: "knock the crap out of them, would you? seriously..."vo: clear thinking... donald trump: "i know more about isis than the generals do, believe me." vo: and calm judgment. donald trump: "and you can tell them to
6:39 am
"i would bomb the sh_t out of them." vo: just one. this is mike's office. if he doesn't show up, he doesn't get paid. too often marco rubio didn't show up and failed us when he did. i am patrick murphy. to get things done, you've got to show up. you've got to work together. whether it's protecting social security and women's health care
6:40 am
instead of pointing fingers. i am patrick murphy and i approve this message
6:41 am
>>dave: good wednesday morning. you'll notice the temps seem to be a little warmer than yesterday. nothing extreme but two or three degrees warm he were -- warmer. mid 60s. hey, these numbers aren't bad at all, and i know they're technically above normal, but
6:42 am
land o lakes, wesley chapel, 66 degrees. same for venice, same for englewood. we have a nice, mild start to the day. upper 60s for our friends over in polk county, also highlands county. more sunshine, more warmth today. there's a little bit of a difference, and you can see more of an easterly component to the wind. doesn't seem like a big deal. but what it's doing is it's picking up moisture from the atlantic and bringing it onshore. you're getting don't be surprised east of 75 if you get the tiniest of showers or sprinkles for today. i mean, really the rain chances are below 10%. but just to let you know if that happens, don't be completely like, what? what's going on? it's not going to be a big deal. in general, we just wait. we wait for the cold front to make its way to the southeast. it will be here on friday afternoon. first thing that will happen is you may get a quick sprinkle out of the deal.
6:43 am
they'll pick up in intensity friday night and that is going to drag in the cooler, drier air. i mean, a much, much different setup than we've been the past couple of weeks. it reminds me of the cold front two weeks ago. when that came through, we had that stellar, stunning weekend. same type of thing going to happen for this weekend. we have a sunrise here in 59 minutes. a beautiful one at that. 86 degrees for a high temperature doesn't change much and then 84 for tomorrow with scattered clouds and continued warmth. if you're boating today, moderate chop. seas running two feet and our high tide is not until 5:17 this afternoon. low tide this morning at around 10:30. a couple of things this weekend. don't forget to turn the clocks back when you go to bed on saturday night or just be lazy like me and wait for them all to
6:44 am
your microwave clock. you do that one in the morning. >>vanessa: and the stove. i hate that. then you've got to worry about them matching because they're like right there next to each oerp. do you know what i'm talking about? >>dave: hashtag first world problems. >>vanessa: exactly. >>dave: i know exactly what you're saying. they have to say the same number. >>vanessa: lucas is there with the timer and the clock and the cell phone. i feel like we have a lot of power outages in the area all the time. we're always like resetting it. i digress totally. we'll get to roads right now. thanks, dave. 6:44. pasco county drivers here, state road 52 and old pasco road, we have a crash with lane blocks reported. we don't know how bad they are. we're not sure if it's a full blockage. plan a few extra minutes here. we'll learn more.
6:45 am
