and here's a quick look at the biggest ?state races from last night. in florida's race for u-s senate... republican marco rubio is the winner. he beat democrat patrick murphy... 52 percent to 44 percent. the polls had this race pretty close in recent weeks... but rubio pulled away at the end. and.. former governor charlie crist is heading ?back to office. the democratic candidate beat david jolly to take florida's 13th congressional district. it was a close one... crist getting about 51 percent, jolly getting 48 percent. crist celebrated the big win last night at the don cesar resort on st. pete beach. he thanked supportersa& and said he was humbled by the victory. crist pledged to fight for social secuirty for seniorsa.to protect the beauty of pinellas county..and
crist acknoledged opponent david jollyasaying while they were opponentsathey were never enemies. he says he knows he has a lot of work ahead of him...but he's looking forward to the challenge. a look at the big amendents on the ballot last night. and amendment one... won't be moving forward. the solar energy bill did ?not get enough votes to pass. it got about 50 percent of voters to say "yes." but it need 60 percent. pro-solar groups saying utility companies were backing the bill... to actually ?restrict the growth of solar energy. better news for amendment two. the medical marijuana bill passed ... getting 71 percent of the vote. the amendment makes medical marijuana legal all across the state... for people with serious medical issues. this amendment was on the ballot two years ago, but
wording from 20-14... to tighten oversight. now on to some other races for u.s. house of representatives. big wins for long time incumbents: in hillsborough county's district 14.. an easy win again for congresswoman kathy castor. she defeats newcomer republican christine quinn... 61 percent to 38 percent. this will be castor's sixth term in office. district 12 covers pasco county and small parts of pinellas and hillsborough. republican congressman gus bilirakis easily dea seat... 68 percent to 31 percent.. to keep his seat. bilirakis moves on to his sixth term. for manatee and sarasota counties' district 16... vern buchanan will get his sixth term. he wins big over democratic challenger jan schneider... 59 percent to 40 percent. a big upset in the race for hillsborough county state attorney last night. incumbent "mark ober" ?lost to newcomer andrew warren. it was a tight one... warren got 50 percent, ober got just 49 percent. ober had been
and... hillsborough county clerk of court "pat frank" is not retiring yet. the democrat beats attorney and former tv reporter eric seidel... 53 to 46 percent. frank wins her ?fourth term in office at the age of 86. and her 87th birthday... is later this week. and of course there are ?many other local races we didn't have time to mention. you can see them scrolling across the bottom of your screen right now... and throughout the morning. and we'll also have all the results listed on our website, "fox 13 news dot com." and of course our election coverage continues all morning ng us in studio starting at seven... to go over all the numbers. and people in orlando got a colorful way to see the election results last night. the "orlando eye" wheel... changed it's colors to reflect all the electoral college votes... in a giant pie chart. red for trump and blue for

"we will never be silenced." she was reportedly seen backstage at the clinton party crying with actress lena dunham, another huge clinton supporter. as the votes started coming in for trump... "captain america" actor chris evans tweeted... this is an embarrassing night for america. we've let a hatemonger lead our great nation. we've let a bully set our course. i'm devastated." stephen baldwin was at the trump victory party last nit. bless america and our 45th president of the u-s-a and the new first family." and stacey dash... actress from the movie clueless... another trump supporter sent out this tweet-- "america will be great again". and... the "daily show" on comedy central was trying to make a ?joke about the election , before the results came in. they tweeted that actor "scott baio" would be hosting tonight's show, instead of the real host... trevor noah. baio has been

today in tampa: the ride-sharing controversy in hillsborough county could finally be over. transportation commissioners will vote on a temporary operating agreement to make uber and lyft ?legal. the tampa bay lightning didn't wait for the vote... they started a partnership with uber last month. "uber" and "lyft" have tentatively agreed on tougher background checks..but that does ?not include fingerprinting. if you're looking for a job today... just head to
