Yesterday, June 27th, 2020, the City of Newark along with partnering organizations, and artists gathered together to create two street murals in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Newark is a city of love, Newark is a city of change and under the leadership of Mayor Ras Baraka the city has evolved in many ways.
The rest of the nation can take a note from how Newark has been able to reform its police department, decrease crime and police brutality drastically and create trust between the city, law enforcement and the community. Take a look at Newark- a city that supports art and through art, creates change!
We know that there’s more that needs to be done but this is a statement marked on our streets that shows the solidarity of the people in this city. Residents of all colors were out there together and I am glad to be apart of capturing it.
