Subject: Amazing Night, Amazing Weekend
I love the Dark Star Jubilee weekend. Originally from Ohio, I really only return twice a year, and the Jubilee is one of those occasions. The scaled down Jubilation in 2021 was a nice standin, but I was looking forward to a full weekend with better weather.
This was a fantastic show. The weather was fantastic also. The sound was better than ever-those meyer speakers push the sound without it ever sounding too loud.
Standout songs to me included Row Jimmy, Might As Well, and that amazing funk space 76 flavored Playin in the Band. DSO really does still do a great job of recreating the flavors and sounds of the various years, none more apparent than the Playing.
Music Never stopped had a great jam. I loved the Cosmic Charlie that was born out of the Dancing in the second set, and the slipknot took me away. Some rock and roll in Round & Round and U.S. Blues sent us to our campsite, where I promptly fell asleep.
Can't wait for next year!
