The attached PDF consists of documents regarding John
Birch Society history.
The subjects
include:
*how the FBI learned of the existence of Robert Welch’s so-called “private
letter” (The Politician) which was from a contact by G-2 Army
Intelligence
*documents that reflect how the “private letter” was
used as a recruitment tool for new JBS members,
*Minutes of JBS National
Council meetings which show membership numbers and financial information during
early years of the Society,
*a resignation letter by Bryton Barron (a former
State Dept historian) who became a JBS Coordinator in Virginia.
*a letter by Robert Welch to David Roemer which discusses in detail Welch's religious beliefs.
These documents originated in FBI files as well as in personal
papers of several JBS National Council members which are archived in several
universities. Most have never been publicly available except in some of my online Reports about the JBS.
