Traces the role of the police batallion of Nürnberg (consisting of recruits from the regular police and the reserves) in the murder of Jews in the region of Brest-Litovsk during the Holocaust. In 1961 the State Attorney's office received the first findings on the participation of the batallion in the evacuation of the Brest-Litovsk ghetto in October 1942, which was conducted by several units, including SS, and during which ca. 5,000 Jews were murdered. However, in 1965 the prosecution halted investigations of all those involved due to lack of proof, despite contradictions in the perpetrators' testimonies and the fact that they had admitted seeing corpses of Jews dispersed in the area and around the ghetto
