The long lived, obscure underground Punk "legends" of St. Louis. In the mid 80's,immerged a young band out of the the everyday "ho-hum' streets of St.louis.Like the other...few but great St.Louis punk bands at the time(Ultraman,B.F.D.,Whoppers taste Good,etc...),they carved themselves a notch in underground stardom. The band consisted of- Tim Hopmeier(vocals-growl,bass),Ray James(vocals-sweet,guitar) & Hank Verplank(drums). The Stoned Walls believed that punk & rock n roll had lost its fun.music to them was about girls, sex, sleaze, drinking, partying, fighting, having a blast & being smart-asses,not political issues & obeying the law.To them,it had no place in their kind of raw,yet humorous flavor of punk rock. The band stayed together for many years & went through a few name changes, but in the end,the original 3 decided to call it quits to pursue other musical interests. The songs on this page are a tribute to what some believed, the coolest thing to walk the streets of punk rock. You can now find Tim playing bass & singing with The Cripplers on Dionysus Records.(http://www.dionysusrecords.com)You Can find Hank & Ray pounding it out in St.Louis's Tomorrow's caveman.(http://www.tomorrowscaveman.com)
