A promotional plate with "Compliments from Duffy & Nagle, General Merchandise, Long Grove, Iowa" printed on it. There is also a picture of a Dutch boy and a dog with the words "Stop! Look! Listen!". According to The History of Long Grove, by Eleanor Connell, during the time period after World War I, Howard Marriot ran the post office and the general store with the help of Thomas Duffy and Louis Holland. Marriot then sold his store to Duffy, and James Nagle joined him as a partner, while Marriot became the postmaster. In 1934, Duffy bought the bank building and moved the store and post office there. His general store continued until after World War II, in the late 1940s, when he retired.
