Until recently, the end times had been poorly understood
because the best source on them, the book of Apocalypse, is full of symbols
difficult to interpret. But in 1943 there was a breakthrough. Jesus lifted some
veils off the antichrist, the two beasts, and the great Babylon; Jesus shed
light on the woman clothed with the sun, and the two witnesses; and clarified
many other scriptural passages about the end times. Jesus did so in an
extensive series of revelations to an Italian mystic, Maria Valtorta. Maria
Valtorta was a Roman Catholic Italian writer and poet, considered by many to be
a mystic. She was a Franciscan tertiary and a lay member of the Servants of
Mary who reported personal conversations with, and dictations from, Jesus.
