1931-33, excavated by Erich Schmidt, director of the Joint Expedition to Iran sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania Museum and the Pennsylvania Museum of Art, ceded to the Tehran Museum in the division of finds, acquired by the Museum in 1939, presented by the Tehran Museum to balance the division of funding and finds of the Iranian Expedition of the Metropolitan Museum of Art at Nishapur.
