Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu's far-right coalition's assault on the country's judiciary would remove almost all legal restraints on his government. The president of Israel's Supreme Court calls it an unrestrained attack on the legal system" which would render the democratic identity of the state of Israel "unrecognizable." Israel's dilemmas are the dilemmas of much of humankind.
