My grandfather,
Doug Brown, hosted
The Book Club on WOI radio in Ames, Iowa for over 30 years. I recently received some tapes from his radio shows and thought I would upload them.
This unabridged reading of Herman Melville's
Moby Dick was recorded on the air over ten weeks.

Hmmmm...and they call Mel Blac the man of 100 voices.
Of course I've known of Moby Dick and the general story and all the various puns and jokes.
And, now I'm glad I never had to read it as a school assignment but, do like this audio book version as I can play it in the background while I do other computer tasks.
Mr. Brown did a great job and, while the story is full of ennui detail, it's at least in a form that I can gloss over by switching my brain to other endeavors during those parts while it continues to play.

FANTASTIC
Without a doubt, this has been my favorite audiobook listening experience of all time. I read this classic in High School and have been panning it for 40 years.......now I know what I was missing: a fabulous narration that makes me feel like I'm 'round the campfire with friends and family. THANK YOU Mr. BROWN for rekindling my interest in one of the classics of America literature.
