bill foster, melissa been, will be looking for new jobs. there are few states that turned out worse for democrats that president obama is own state. look at a state like delaware where the tea party candidates came in and really rocked republicans, not only of one seat but some house republicans thought that might have a chance at keeping the senate seat with the right primary nominee. that nominee lost along with congressman mike castle and democrats picked up the two seats, but that talks a lot about the dangers republicans face going forward if they continue this shrinking and purifying the party. three different states, somehow i think it is fitting that illinois was the state that actually flipped to republicans. >> one example of how bad it was, in wisconsin, the democrats lost the governorship, the senate seat, to house seats, both chambers of the state legislature, all in one night. this is a state that voted for the democrat in the presidential election and the last six presidential elections. that just shows how much of blue state

frankly, the bill i cosponsored is not the bill that's coming to the floor today. it's been changed in some material ways as late as this morning there were changes being made. and i understand that there are discussions going on right now that hey change it again. first of all let me say the issue of food safety is an issue that is of primary importance. we need to make sure that the food that's put in the retail stores as well as in restaurants and every other location in america is absolutely the safest highest quality food product of anybody in the world. that's always been our reputation. but there are some gaps in that -- in that good safety inspection program in the united states today that have allowed some things to happen. we had a situation in georgia two years ago where we found salmonella in some peanut butter at a location in south georgia a manufacturing location. and while f.d.a. had the authority to go in and make an inspection the way they actually inspected it was on a contract basis through the georgia department of agriculture. they didn't have

the bill that would affect undocumented students the most. the bill has been out there since 2001. why are they rallying now. the thought of that right now in the lame duck session of congress, senate leader harry reid and nancy pelosi will follow-through to put the bill up for a couple of votes. if they graduate high school and go to college or the military, don't break the law. opponents call it amnesty for illegals. supporters say many of the students have college degrees and can't get a job because they are undocumented and therefore can't pay taxes and contribute more to society. reporting live here in san jose, today in the bay. >> thank you, bob. 6:51 skpth e-mail indocks overloaded after a holiday weekend, but it will be especially full this morning, loaded up with online discounts for the big cyber monday. today in the bay's chris sanchez joins us and retail is expected to see a spike in online sales and expected to see a little call into work. >> i expect so, but since cyber monday was coined, we got smarter about shopping at work and hopefully don't get busted as often.
