host: newt gingrich. guest: i think you raise some interesting points, but they are in some ways very misleading. congress has a penchant plan that is much closer to a defined contribution plans the than a defined benefit plan and then it used to be. in lots of companies, people can earn a long-term benefits, and when they get older, members of congress are on medicare just like everybody else. i think that part of it is just not an accurate perception. the key difference is no corporation, including federal employees, is big enough to control medicine in america. there is a very wide range of choices pretty to look at the federal employee health benefit act, it is a good model for thinking about having a large number of choices. what worries that those of us who have looked at various national health system is putting power in the hands of bureaucrats so they start making decisions. there is a reasoned argument about whether or not you should have a particular test for men that relates to prostate cancer
