we want to start this evening with one of our weather cameras in frederick. we. our weather cameras to the sky for a reason. take a look at what we captured this evening. the leading edge of some very heavy rain pushes quickly into the frederick area. all of a sudden we get the rain , gusty winds, and that will be replayed over and over again as a strong cold front moves in our direction for the evening hours. the doppler radar systems show the leading edge of rain the highlighted in yellow with looks beckel the bread. that is the heavy downpours right now. -- with the law it'll speckles -- the little speckles of rain. we are under a winded by three. picking up a good rainfall amount already with heavier rains farther to the southwest still to come through the region later this evening. we have a severe thunderstorm warning that stretches back through western north carolina, western south carolina, and then heavy rain follows that. we have a lot of rain coming and then possible flooding. that is why we are under a flash flood watch as well. in effect over southwe

first, there is work going on at the site at 780 frederick. there was asphalt being jackhammered, we believe that underneath is toxic the site prior to go to being the recycling center is a railroad yard and we believe there should be some kind of environmentle review before further work proceeds there has been nothing beyond an initial conceptual design for a garden without a specific address. and we believe there should be a process do more. secondly, as you know the reek and park commission is one of the few commissions who's divisions cannot be appealed to you. reek and park pretty much is unanimous in approving whatever the department sends to them. one thing you can do is look at their budget when the budget comes before; you. two items of concern first, is how much are they spending on legal fees or charging to other departments for legal fees this could be greatly reduced if they cooperated with neighborhoods, with community groups, and with the public as a whole. secondly, we don't know how much they are spending on the site at 780 fr

two people walked into a restaurant here on south frederick road in gaithersburg tonight and sprayed a manager and a customer. they snatched the cash register and took off. just last weekend, four suspects were arrested near gaithersburg middle school after police tell us they used a fire extinguisher to rob people. the two incidents don't appear to be le related. 90 minutes. that's how long it took a jury to convict a police officer of killing his mistress and leaving their baby girl in a hot car to die. jackie benson is at prince george's county with the emotional reaction from the victim's family. >> i am just so happy that he was found guilty on every count because he's a liar and a killer. and he's gone forever. >> the family of wynetta wright, just 20 when she was murdered said they stayed strong for her and for her baby daughter. the 11-month-old died horribly within hours of her mother, strapped in her car seat in temperatures that experts say reached 125 degrees that hot day. >> i'm so glad he's found guilty. i'm just so glad. it's hard to sit ten feet behind someone. >> 40-

right now it is still 48 degrees in frederick. 46 in leesburg and manassas. same in culpeper and it's 48 degrees right now in luray. the temperatures are still feeling very nice well above what we expect this time of the year and also well above where we were at this time yesterday. 20 degrees warmer in frederick and hagerstown. 18 degrees warmer in manassas and 18 degrees warmer at andrews. you can see a weak cold front on the way on satellite ask radar. it's so mild, all the way up to buffalo that this is falling as rain showers. no real moisture to the south though. and that's why we're not expecting any moisture with this frontal passage but we will see changes in the forecast as it does pass. overnight tonight 29 to 35. mostly clear with winds out of the south at 5 to 10 can then during the day tomorrow. still above average. 45 to 50 degrees and it will become partly cloudy in the afternoon as the front approaches. it will be breezy though and winds will be out of the northwest at 15 to 20 giving us windchills in the low 40s upper 30s maybe at times. but
