the entire city and county of san francisco is oversaturated. we have way more liquor licenses than what the code says. you could theoretically go anywhere in the neighborhood and put an out-right prohibition of 100 feet. and you could. if you are talking about saturati saturation, that point is pretty much everywhere. that's why i don't think you want to go with an out-right ban. and it's the practice of those establishments. and distinguishing those places that are bars versus restaurants. and some are providing a different experience than others. some are nuisances and some are. and the bigger issue that we went to, we can't determine what is hot and not. and that creates a nuisance. and those people with huge lunch crowds it's a nuisance. but it's a different kind of nuisance, while people are standing in front in their property. that's why i don't think that makes sense, you could ban that everywhere in the city. >> commissioner. >> the issues are specific to this particular area. and that's why the legislation came up in the first place. i

what the city mayor says he is willing to do to win one of the biggest sporting events on the entire planet. good morning. >> reporter: he's willing to waive millions of dollars. we're going to see if the city of santa clara goes along with his plan. we want to give you a live look at the stadium. if you haven't seen it in some time, take a look. it's very real. very cool vantage point from where we are, right across the street. the stadium becoming a reality for the san francisco 49ers. now, the mayor of santa clara is hoping the super bowl will become a reality for his city. tonight, the city council will hold a meeting to vote on proposals drawn up by the mayors office that will cost the city millions. ultimately, the mayor is agreeing to all the demands, outlined by the nfl. that includes waiving the city's 9.5% hotel tax for nfl employs and the teams, assuming they stay here. he's agreed to suspend ticket surcharges and drop parking fees. this will cost santa clara at least $6 million. but the mayor says not to worry. the super bowl crowds would offset the loss and then some. >>
