provided to us by kgo. that is the san francisco airport. and i believe you are looking at members of the national transportation safety board. we call it the ntsb, walking across that runway where that plane crashed so spectacularly. two people dead in that. all in all, 307 people on board. we are awaiting a news conference by the national transportation safety board. so far as we know, they have begun some preliminary looks at the data recorder, for instance, those black boxes, as we call them, have already been shipped to washington. they are already downloading some of the data so they can know a little bit at this point. but what we also know is that the ntsb doesn't dribble out information it gets bit by bit. it tends to collect it and look at all of it before it gives you their kind of big-picture story. we do know some things that are happening, that happened as those, what must have been terrified passengers, came down on that plane. they said that there was absolutely no announcement that, in fact, something was about to take place

we are looking live from the kgo roof camera toward the transamerica tower and you see the low clouds just at the tip of the tower. it will deepen a little bit and we will see the clouds move inland and then make its way back to the coast this afternoon. current temperatures right now, san francisco a 3. so we are mainly in the 50s. half moon bay at 52, santa cruz at 57. you will find more of the fog across the golden gate bridge. it is currently 53 in santa rosa. so far they haven't reported any fog. we will see if that changes. it probably will the next couple hours. we are looking at more of those gray skies from emeryville over the bay. kind of the bay bridge there in the distance. basically what you can expect is a very similar morning compared to yesterday's. we've got the fog and even a little bit of drizzle. most like we will see the drizzle closer to the coast. it's going to be cloudy all day at the coast. but we will see more sunshine again in parts of the peninsula and definitely the interior valleys. cooler as the trend for the next few days. so we have a hot air mass movi

>> live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news, good morning on this friday. >> we begin with developing news frightened moments for crew removing the wreckage of asiana flight 214 from the crash site at sfo. it brought airport firefighters rushing to the scene. abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield has that story from burlingame. >> look at this amazing video captured overnight by our photographer, huge amounts of smoke coming out of the runway and another fire on the runway within a week. firefighters rushed to the scene and it happened as crews were lifting parts of the wreckage. they got the fire out quickly. the airport duty manager has not called us to tell us what happened and has referred to us a spokesman. we are waiting for details. here is what we saw moments of budget fire, the fuselage was lifted and they put a sling around it and debris came billowing out. they expected this to be a significant salvage operation. before they got started they talked how they had no idea what would happen. >> we expect there will be a lot of hazardous materials, jet fuel, hydrauli

it doesn't look like anybody is still being pulled out of the wreckage, but according to kgo, one of the inflatable slides deployed and people were seeing jumping down the slide to safety. the redwood city fire department says that they brought personnel there to treat burn victims. we would imagine given the burn damage to the top of the plane, that is certainly the case. >> heather: earlier we were talking about the history of asiana airlines. they had two major crashes, this would be the third. since the airline was founded in 1998, one of those in 1993 a crash that happened -- that apparently was a domestic passenger jet that slammed into a hill that happened in southwestern south korea killing 68 people on board. that was an asiana boeing 737 and then again a second crash happened just in 2011. with asiana, two passengers died when a cargo plane crashed into waters off the southern coast of south korea. apparently that in that particular crash there was a report of a fire in the cargo component. so a compartment of that plane in 2011, caused from a cargo fire in the cargo compar
