maria molina has been tracking that. she joins us from new york city where it is currently raining on the streets of the big town. >> that's right. it is currently raining. in true fashion, i'm outside bearing the elements. look at mexico, you can see some of the video of extreme flooding there. we did have landfall already occur from ingrid and that was a hurricane. but now it has weakened to a tropical storm. maximum sustained winds at 65 miles per hour. the biggest concern with ingrid isn't whether it's a tropical storm or hurricane, it's really the amount of rainfall we are expecting. we're talking about locally up to 25 inches of rain possible from the storm system over the next several days across sections of northeastern mexico. so flash flooding will be a concern. we're also look at issues in terms of mud slides out there because we do have several mountain ranges. you can see the computer model forecast is for, again, locally up to 25 inches of rain. but overall, more than six inches expected for so many areas o

we are going to toss it over to maria molina. what can you expect? >> we are looking at improving conditions over the several days and parts of the southwest because the entire region has been dealing with heavy rain. these are areas not used to seeing significant rainfall in a short amount of time. on average they should be seeing 1-2 inches of rain during the month of september. some of these areas picked up 15 inches of tlaiven seen flooding in colorado. in boulder take a look at the extended forecast. drier conditions monday, tuesday, wednesday even into thursday. we are expecting to see continuous flooding out here across sections of colorado and new mexico because it's going to take time for the river flooding to continue to improve. you see the waters recede. that's what we are looking at here river flooding being a major concern in colorado. otherwise across the gulf of mexico we have hurricane ingrid maximum sustained winds at 75 miles an hour. we are expecting to see heavy rain across cities like brownsville and southern states could be exp

and maria molina is here with the latest. >> good morning. they had a dusting in parts of california. there are areas that are seeing more than a dusting. we are talking 1-2 feet of snow in the northern rockies. overall i want to show you the weather picture here. quiet from minnesota down to texas. heavy rain across parts of florida clearing out. northeast high pressure continues in place. overall every where east of the rockies we have quiet weather conditions. this stoirm system will head east. the white stuff you see on the radar that is snow. it is coming down quite heavily across sections of montana and idaho and wyoming. we are talking 1-2 feet of snow out here. we have a number of winter weather advisories. that's the area shaded in pink out here. watches posted for areas of wyoming because of the significant snowfall we are expecting. we are not talking a lot of wind with this storm system just a lot of snow in the higher elevations. we are going to be drying out because it is welcome news flooding with a uz a concern. temperature wi

maria molina has been tracking it for us. good morning maria. >> good morning patti ann and heather. it is heartbreaking what's going on. you have the topography across western parts of colorado so when all of that rainfalls on the mountains it runs down into the streets that's what produces the wall of water, that rise in water levels among many of the streets and streams up here making the flooding situation much worse. you can see the radar the past 48 hours more thanches of rain in boulder and denver and across areas east of denver. there are reports that as much as 11 inches of rain have fallen out here. all kinds of reports but the issue is really that we have again the runoff. other sections of parts of new mexico and as far east as sections of februanebraska and picking up a lot of heavy rain over the next 48-hours. we have flash flood warnings it has helped pump up parts of new mexico keeping the rain chance in place. friday, saturday into sunday we are talking a significant hint for more heavy rain and more flash fl
