we have the moisture coming in from remnants of tropical storm lorena. you could see about 100 millimeters of rainfall throughout your work week in many areas here. remember, this is desert in many areas out here. so it's very dry soil. you get that amount of rain, it's going to cause some flash flooding. something to watch out there. now, that is not the only area. like i said, we do have the storm system toward the north. this is one of these fall-like storms. i know we're in september. but it really is starting to get more into the transition season. you have the warm front here. that's doing exactly what that does, temperatures in the 30s across much of the midwest. the storm in itself is interacting with the warm air and cooler air behind it and bringing thunderstorm activity. some of it could be severe in the western great lakes. as this pushes east, temperatures will continue to warm up across much of the eastern u.s. high of 32 here in new york on your wednesday. even the washington, d.c., up to 34. now, by friday into saturday, you're going to s

we had the two tropical systems, another disturbance. this is manuel when it was moving across the southern side. it made this first landfall here, where i put the x, but it's trekked up the coastline, causing problems all along the way, more in kind of this area causing showers. it's stalled out. it's going to sit and rain and cause more flooding concerns. we also had in grid that moved interior, dying out right away when iles cut out from the water. as it did that, we had the squeeze play of the two storms bringing the moisture to the mountains, causing the flooding. this area is still recovering. we have another disturbance we're watching very closely. there's the closer look at our current area of activity, now a hurricane and not moving too fast. you can see it just sitting and spinning and causing all of that moisture. the disturbance we're watching is moving into the bay, but that as it continues to move over the water, even if it doesn't make landfall in ingrid, some of the moisture will move over that area that has also been flo

i'm going to take a quick look at the tropics first. we've had problems here like the philippines, landslides and mud slides with a tropical storm moving through, still some showers in the area. to the north, we are looking at japan. you can see typhoon headed that direction, that actually with this front coming in will steer it away. at the meantime, you could be looking at squally weather, high irwaves, showers. the u.s. tropics are quiet. we really have two areas that we are watching. the first is heading to florida, looking at a lot of rain, a very persistent flow in this region. continuing through the day, it's sad rated and we'll see more rain, so we will have more of these problems. into the midsection of the country, you can see a little disturbance, not bringing a ton of rain with it or much in the way of cooler weather. we're going to stay with nice comfortable fall days that we've been seeing recently, now that we are officially into fall. you can pick out the onshore flow we've had. that's going to keep the weather persisten

>> well, let's start off with this tropical system. really, it has packed pretty gusty winds especially where it's located right now. you see that pretty well defined, starting to wrap up around the center of circulation. an eye even developing near the center of the storm system. i wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a typhoon in the near future. s gusting up near 112 kilometers per hour reported out here. in the coming days, this is going to be upgrading to a typhoon. winds sustained about 108, gusting up to 144 kilometers per hour. you can see it making a hart right-hand turn to the northeast. that's because we have the cold front pushing in from the west. that's like a snowplow, and basically shoving it off into the northern pacific. but what it will be doing is basically putting the brunt of the force on the islands here. you could be seeing gusty winds. but also right near the coastal areas there in the tokyo bay, sustained winds around 90 kilometers per hour. that could be possible going through thursday as it pushes off to th

as a matter of fact, we have two tropical systems one here to the east, tropical storm ingrid that's going to make its way further north and towards the west, tampico and ver a vera cr. then we have tropical storm manuel, making its way further north, going to have an impact bringing gusty winds, in addition to that gustier winds into the mountains, three to six inches of rain into south and eastern portions of texas including brownsville and into corpus christi. into the northeast, chilly start to the morning. check out temperatures currently in new york we're he at 55 boston, staying in the 70s here, further inland 60s. back into toronto we'll be right around 65°. out west we do expect to see more rain push across new mexico right into boulder. mostly cloudy overcast skies but later on tonight we could see an additional 3 to 6 inches of rain, that's why the kpc has prompted. rushing down off the mountains right into the town and that's the reason why we are dealing with the devastation we've been seeing the last several days. as a matter of fact this is rain that is unprecedented.

this could show some intens intensification and could become the next tropical depression or even tropical storm. now where it heads from here is very important to watch. the area cannot take much more rain. as it is intensifies we can certainly see more rain coming down and the tracks, they're all individual computer forecast showing the track. a lot of agreement that it will continue to drift to the northwest. but from there it could go northeast or south. as it stays off the gulf of mexico that could be a big problem dumping a lot of rain and leading to more landslides. we'll watch our this storm develops. >> another big weather story in colorado where damage from the floods could cost $9 million. according to fema, more than 72 homes and businesses have been damaged or destroyed. fewer than 6,000 people in those counties had flood insurance. and there are still some 200 people unaccounted for. rescue crews are now conducting door-to-door searches. the number of flood-related deaths stands at sixes plus two women missing and presumed dead. >>> meanwhile the flood ravage community of lyo
