nbc10 chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz is here with the forecast. we made it into the 60s. >> yeah 61 degrees today. believe it or not, a year ago today, it was 65 so it can get into the 60s this time of the year. a lot of sunshine during the afternoon. and that certainly has helped things. it's still 60 degrees in philadelphia and dover, millvale, atlantic city, but we're in the 50s to the north and west. we did get into the 50s even in the poconos today. the clouds generally to the south. more sunshine to the north today and the rain was in sussex county delaware has shifted even farther to the south. so, there's no threat of that during the night tonight. so temperatures are going to be going down pretty quickly as the clear skies come in here and a little cooler air mass. it's not going to be as mild as last night. we have significant colder air in the seven-day, along with some significant weekend rain. the timing on that coming in just a few minutes. >>> tomorrow marks one week since philadelphia police officer robert wilson iii died in the li

nbc10 chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz is back now. >> you are watching the storm as it starts to wind down. how much longer before this is out of here? >> it depends on where you are in our western suburbs. we're already seeing a significant change. that live shot you saw in kennett square it was hardly snowing at all. it's still snowing in south philly. i-95 just wet. we continue to monitor those main highways but we have a first alert out for highways beyond the big ones. to the smaller roads. bridges, overpasses sidewalks, driveways, slushy snow. and then a chance of freezing drizzle as we go through the night, creating some icy spots for early on saturday. you can see over the six-hour period, everything moving from west to east. in lancaster county it's almost over. berks county the western part of the county just about over. lehigh valley getting close to the end of it but we continue to see some of these dark colors in the blue. in burlington county down 295. also parts of ocean county getting some pretty heavy snow. totally different story to the west. chester c

. >> chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz is here now with the very latest. i was thinking that the snow would be over, glenn. >> no we get snow in march in philadelphia. we've even had it in april. it's not that unusual to have it in the forecast but this may be more than just flurries or a couple of snow showers you'll see a little later. in the meantime we have pretty nice weather out there now. it's going to get even warmer as we go into tomorrow. it's 55 degrees now. temperatures keep going up as we see more and more sunshine. 50 in allentown at the moment. and 58 degrees in georgetown delaware. that is the warm spot. these are the clouds coming down from the northwest. we're seeing patches of sunshine. the clouds will be increasing again tonight. that will help keep the temperature up. 52 degrees at 8:00. so it's not going to be that cold when you get up in the morning. and the forecast highlights yeah, tomorrow that's going to be known for wind. then we have multiple cold blasts coming in the seven-day. yeah, snow just as we start spring officially. mo

lincoln avenue in the willow glenn area was reconfigured last friday. the city calls it a road diet. the idea to shrink the room for cars to make more room for people. michelle roberts returned to the road today to see what drivers are saying a week later and how do they like it so far? >> reporter: i spoke to many pedestrians as well on lincoln avenue who supported this. they say they feel a little bit safer, but there is a down side and that's traffic on other roadways. i'm here on meridian not far from lincoln avenue and people on this street say it's been a headache pretty much all week. lincoln aech is the heart of san jose's willow glenn neighborhood. >> let's create an area where people will want to go to to stop and shop verseus drive through. >> reporter: the two-lane downtown area may create a safer and more inviting shopping space. last week the road experiment began. feedback is pouring in. >> i think pedestrians have a better chance. >> reporter: lincoln avenue was reduced from four lanes to two and now there are two bike lanes. >> i think
