an overnight crash in philadelphia's lawncrest section killed two people. we're live with details on how that crash happened. >>> this is nbc 10 news today. i'm tracy davidson. >> i'm chris cato. it is monday morning and we're actually going to begin with that crash in the lawncrest neighborhood of philadelphia. >> matt delucia is live on the scene. matt. >> reporter: quite a crash out here. there is the vehicle right behind me on adam avenue between the roosevelt boulevard and whitaker. the car you see right there is overturned. a lot of investigators is around it right now. the car hit that pole that you see there. quite a bit of damage. look at where that car is right now. i'd say about 40 to 50 yards away is where the two victims landed after being ejected. right now you're seeing that is where the victims were. those bodies were taken away about an hour ago. we have video for you now. a large group of family members showed up. one woman earlier kept yelling "my brother, that's my brother." police are telling us the victims are a man and a woman. the ca

nbc 10's katy zachry is live in south philadelphia. all right, katy, lay all this out for us here. >> reporter: chris, a lot happened in a short amount of time early this morning. but fortunately philadelphia police officers saw most of it and they say they know who they're looking for. they believe the man behind all of this as you look at our video, the marne driving this black mustang is a former prison inmate. they say this because they found what's believed to be his prison i.d. at one of the scenes. now, initially pulled him over for driving erratically. when officers walked up to his car, he took off. they followed in their cruiser to see him crash the mustang several blocks away. officers say the suspect then carjacked another vehicle nearby that had people in it. he forced the driver and the passenger out and drove off. but detectives say two women were sitting in the back seat during this time. eventually the suspect pulled the car over, jumped out and ran. the two women got control of the car and drove a nearby police office
