. >>> with just a week and a half left in the season we are tracking the tropics tonight. storm team 8 meteorologist steve jerve joins us now. this storm is not threatening the u.s., but you're keeping an eye on it, as always. >> absolutely. it's strange to be talking about this late in the season, not impossible certainly. the hurricane season runs until the end of november. we do have this late season storm as an area that hurricane center mentioned had some potential for development. it has a name, yes, it's called otto. good ventilation, will likely continue on that westerly track. it remains in the pacific, it would pick up a pacific name. 60 miller wind moving south. you can see the -- mile-per- hour wind moving south. as we look at the computer models, the forecast is saying which way can this storm potentially go? generally keeping it in the area of the southern caribbean. now that direct move into the west seems likely. of course, no influence on the bay area, but it is a novelty and certainly a threat for the folks in south america. >>> an arrest in texas after a

possibly not even reaching the ground but they are out there. the tropics are still active. we will continue to watch that until the end of november, which is the end of hurricane season. the buckskin tonight, 70 degrees, mostly dry conditions. a 20 5 pm gametime should be nice weather to tailgate. the easterly flow stays in place with a few showers on the amount pushing offshore but weakening as even goes on. maybe a few clouds left overall. the forecast computer model, throughout thursday morning, mild and in the upper 60s. a few sprinkles moving across the state. not as many as we saw today. a son 10% chance or less of showers. here comes the cold front. friday morning, the cold front will continue to push southward in the front moves into the area. we look at the european computer model farther south. temperatures today probably indicated not as cool as we the north northeast and slightly cooler and drier air. we have that to look forward to. beautiful weather for the weekend. >>> 79 degrees on saturday speaking of the weekend. sunday, near 80 degrees. overnight low temp

interestingly enough we do have something developing in the tropics. this is in the southwest caribbean right now and it hasn't quite developed over the next five days of the 20% chance of developing. looking at more reliable miles moisture if nothing else is going to move over cuba and that across and that across into next weekend. we may not even see any rain all out of this but it is worth keeping an eye on because of it's general direction. it does have a slight chance of developing into a tropical system. to keep in mind we are still in hurricane season all the way through the end of november. is a possibility for that to happen. we will keep an eye on it. there is a if anything i think we will see extra rain in south florida next weekend out of that system. temperatures on average should be starting around exceed degrees ending at 80 starting the day with temperatures just a little above average and pamper. temperatures as low as 28 degrees in crystal river this morning. and 57 and lakewood right now. check out the rest of the weekend. more of th

and watching the tropics. caribbean, the national hurricane center gives that cluster of thunderstorms a 70% chance of developing into a tropical depression. less than 45 minutes to kick- off a chilly day in kansas city as the bucs take on the chiefs. temperature at kick-off, to 50. today, high around 67. tonight, clear and colder with frost possible north. it is a good looking exthe ended forecast towards you the -- looking extended forecast towards thanksgiving, the temperatures back well above average with a forecast high temperature of 80 degrees. and those overnight low temperatures back down in the low 60s. so i know a lot of people broke out the jackets today. tomorrow morning as well. but by the time we visit family, no concerns with the chill. >> you have family coming in. i do as well. and many people want to come in and experience the beach weather. and they'll have it. >> yeah, tomorrow they are bringing new england with them. celebrating another win plus big upsets in college foot >>> back on octo

a tropical depression or tropical storm, and the next name on the list is otto. if it doesn't move it could really bring heavy rain fall to south america, and look at some of the computer models showing where it could go in the coming days, and the steering currents aren't that strong, some models have it heading over central america resulting in very heavy rain fall nothing carrying i the drought in the southeast, so unfortunately won't come in handy for us, but some models carry it to hurricane force intensity several days down the road. so we'll watch that and see what happens with that. we've seen main high pressures develop in the caribbean -- hurricanes develop in the caribbean this time of year. mid-70s friday, and a small chance for rain on saturday. once that cold front blows on by it's tremendous cooling. it's going to be a different highs on sunday. >> big chill is on the way. >> sunday morning we have the santa paws 5k. >> that's sunday morning? >> yes, a chilly but happy santa. >> santa is always happy no matter what. >> true. >> i mean the north pol

because of all the heavy travel. so, watching tropics still. this, it one point was hurricane otto had some wind sheer and some dry air working across the center of this. so right now it has been down graded into a tropical storm. still has winds of 70 miles an hour. very far to the south at 11.1 degrees north 80.7 degrees west. it is expected to become a hurricane once again. looks like it across central america. and then, pushing out into the pacific. because it looks like it's going to maintain itself. lot of people wondering has it changed names? no going to keep the same name otto because it will maintain that tropical intensity. back closer to home high pressure works its way off coastline. there's here's the front working its way across southeast few scattered clouds for us a we go skies today. daytime high 78 degrees. then for tonight few clouds around overnight low of 63. looks good for tomorrow. daytime high of 79 degrees. here's your seven-day forecast, that warming trend over next couple of days. overnight lows warming up as well. w

but the tropics, hurricane season ends november 30th and at th there. 60 degrees as the heart walk gets underway this morning. may want a long sleeve shirt this morning. but the temperatures are going to warm up nicely through the day, 75 by noon and 79 this afternoon, a picture perfect afternoon. waking up with cool spots this morning, including inverness at 52, now down to 48 in crystal river, 63 in clearwater, milder along the coast. dew points are low in the 40s and 50s this morning. visibilities in and around crystal river, mainly north of i-4 could see a little patchy fog this morning. right now scattered clouds continue to work in through the area here. this mid- to upper level moisture, at the surface conditions are dry. dry air is not good for our friends in north georgia and parts of north carolina. in fact, in north carolina, crews are battling about 30 wildfires this morning. dry conditions and heavy they were not caused by weather but investigators believe an arsonist is to blame. firefighters fear the flames eventually will cover more than 2,000 acres. things are very bad
