blue bell 34, allentown 35, trenton 34. it melts on the roads but when it's snowing real hard and you have wind gusts to 60 miles an hour, you can't see and so it's still dangerous even if the roads are not snow covered. gusts of 53 miles an hour in dover right now. 44 in atlantic city, 43 in philadelphia and in allentown. that is pretty nasty and as we go through the afternoon we see areas of that heavier snow spreading to the south. some of it getting into delaware but delaware will get hit is least compared to other parts of our area. you also notice the temperature not going below freezing. so as soon as the snowfall lightens up you'll see more and more of it melt and then the visibility gets better but it's still windy out there so any snow is going to be blowing around all night and into the morning, not cooling down that much. so we're not going to see everything ice over and the snow is going to be melting wherever it's piling up because temperatures will be in the 40s tomorrow. it's going to be windy. we have wind

go into the valley, allentown looking at some rain with a little bit of mixing around it, reading in some very light snow showers. now, i do think in the lehi valley and the upper pennsylvania suburbs we are going to see mainly snow tonight. we will get some accumulation, but a lot of this is melting when it hits the ground. temperatures are just above that freezing mark. now we get down into south jersey and we're getting a burst of heavier snow near morris river, vineland and you can see we get over toward sea isle city and we're seeing rain, even thunderstorms are going to be possible with this. so you can see this is kind of wavering back and forth, salem, you are looking right now at snow also. wilmington, middletown, all the way down to dover where we have a mixing line between rain and sleet and some snow mixing there. you get into southern delaware, and that's where we're looking at basically just rain that's out there. so, across the area, you get the pretty good idea that we have a little bit of variety of stuff going on, changing constantly. this is going to go back and fo

philadelphia 33 degrees, millville the same, allentown 34. when you have temperatures like this near freezing, it does stick on the roads. notice, though, where the snow has been really shutting off. reading and lancaster temperatures in the upper 30's, above freezing and actually once the snow tapers off, temperatures will be rising over the next several hours. so, we're not talking about really a quick refreeze overnight, temperatures just hovering around freezing for awhile. visibility really shows the heart of where we're getting that heavy banding of snow, millville a third of a mile, philadelphia half mile, allentown and the poconos less than a mile, so that's the area where we have that heavy band. reading and lancaster visibility not bad at all, 10 miles and trenton currently visibility at 4 miles but it is tough when you're driving because the winds are really pushing around whipping around that snow. peak wind gusts dennisville, cape may county, close to hurricane force wind gusts, 71 miles per hour, cape may 68, atlantic city 61 an
