don: well, the senate will start off with dinner that the secretary of the senate will host for the senators and their spouses. if tradition holds, the menu, chicken pot pie, which one of the former curators, jim, developed years ago. the one who changed the menu got a lot of protest from the senators and went back to the wonderful chicken pot pies. then after the dinner, they will gather in the senate chamber and they will then march two by two, the vice president leading the precession because the vice president is the president of the senate. and they'll march from the senate chamber to the house chamber. the various times i got to walk in that procession, if you are at the very end of the procession, which is where the staff are, you have to run because it's a little bit like crack the whip. first people are practically in the house chamber by the time the last ones leave the senate chamber. but they get there. they will then take a special seat that will have reserved for the senate. in recent years there's been a tradition to try to break it up so that republicans and democrats walk to
