this was earlier this morning on some of pg&e's cameras. several fires starting with in the burn zone of last summer's czu lightning complex fires. they are hard to access because of downed trees in the area. there's two near big basin, fire crews have been cutting in to the vegetation to try to access there. a couple of neighborhoods are under evacuation orders. ordered for nunez road and willow heights and in boulder creek near staff road and panther ridge. that fire has burned about ten acres. we have heard about other fires in the santa cruz mountains. one off freedom boulevard. empire grade road. fanning grade and prescott road in socal. it's a lot to keep up with. in the north bay an investigation is now underway into a fire that was near geyserville including the possibility that it could have been started by downed power lines. it burned about ten acres near the cal pine geothermal plant. other spot fires breaking out in livermore. both burning about an acre before crews got them under control. of course all of this really made wors

"today in the bay's" bob redell joins us live in the south bay this morning with a look at some of the danger there, and the damage. bob? >> reporter: good morning to you, laura. we know there have been a few wildfires throughout the bay area, but they're under control. a lot of trees down, only one house that we know of that's been damaged. we're here in downtown los gatos. you can see the united states flag is behind us blowing pretty good out here. we have some wind. this was the scene south of here earlier this morning in the hills above los gatos. a lot of branches and debris, this is down on black road before beggs road. a large tree came down and partially blocked the road. i saw new video we weren't able to get online but fire department or someone was out there cutting that tree into pieces to clear the roadway. the national weather service has us under a high wind warning until 7:00 this morning and advis

pg & e shutoff. we had some of the power in the house go off. it's back on right now. so thanks for asking about that. and, you know, for a lot of us out there, we could see trees come down. also some power lines due to the extremely gusty winds. so as we start off our forecast tonight, i did want to begin a little bit here real fast with the temperatures. look, it wasn't uncomfortable. but so unusual for january. this was late summer, early fall weather. we smashed records. 79 today in santa rosa. old record, 73. concord, 78. old record, 69. san francisco, 76. old record 70 set way back in 1920. oakland, the warmest at 83. that is because of the hills. that air moves right down the hills. it heats up pretty rapidly. so that's why oakland is one of our warmest. the old record was 67. san jose also 78 beating the old record of 71 degrees. we had the heat if you miss this earlier, up to 87 miles per hour in the hills. mt. saint helena, 77. so where do we go from here? it's all about this area of low pressure tracking off to the south. that's what's producing the wind. ci

and water that you may have to deal with some of those power outages, and i'm not talking about the pg&e planned outages, but say a tree falls over and knocks off the power to your home, and so you also want to make sure those outdoor items around your house are secured and ready in case some of those winds pick up around your house. we are also looking at the possibility of some of those tree branches coming down, but the humidity will be very low as we go into today and tomorrow, which means we'll have a high fire danger all around the bay area. i'm watching out for that as well as those high winds, as you get ready to head out the door for your morning commute. let's look at our traffic maps as we start out. everything has been fairly quiet. chp warning of a high wind advisory through the altamont pass as well as our bridges. make sure you're aware of that before you head out the door. overall the commute looks pretty good on this holiday. i'll have another look at weather and traffic coming up again in a few minutes. >> thanks so much. 5:10 right now. >>> a woman goes missing durin
