in the north bay. now 2 teenage girls died saturday night in a solo car crash near the fox tail golf club in rohnert park. it happened around 9.30 saturday night when according to police, the car was traveling at high speed and hit a curb along a golf course drive near roberts lake road. the car then jumped the curb hit to street signs to trees and then a traffic signal where it came to rest on its side. the 17 year-old driver was found dead on scene. the 16 year-old passenger was found with life threatening injuries and died at the scene. it's not known if alcohol or drugs were a factor in this accident. accident and police are not releasing their names at this time. switching gears now to talk about the weather as we take a live look over to the east bay along our walnut creek camera. it's going to be very hot time in the bay area this week. kron 4 meteorologist dave spahr has the details on that day. if that's what the places are going to feel too. yeah, i had to go. it's this what it looks like at

there's the bay bridge you head north of that. and that's where that foggy blanket is keeping things a little darker looking in financial district as well as through the golden gate. you head south of the bay bridge in your at least seeing a little window of clearing right there. but fog is patchy this morning and do watch out for as you're crossing areas like the golden gate bridge on across the east bay hills, especially then into portions of marine and sonoma counties, too. looking at some dense fog having formed overnight fog is actually only going to increase tonight as the sea breeze continues to really kick into gear that's going to be part of what cools us further on into your wednesday just around the corner. some of those 90's will become 80's soon as tomorrow. now excessive heat advisories and warnings do still remain for some of the surrounding region, including lake and mendocino counties north of sacramento and then southeast a stockton. if you're heading down 5 or 99. but the bay area, we the eased off that heat thr

there it is in the south bay, tri valley, valleys of north bay have it. by the 10:00 hour, it's melted back so it is just in the immediate bay. we'll see sunshine inland by 10:00. by late morning, it will go all the way back to the beaches. this is classic for june gloom. it will stay gray at the beaches pretty much all day. we'll still see it from the golden gate for much of the day. as a result temperatures stay well behaved. daytime highs are going to the low and mid 80s in the south bay. it will only be 77 for the daytime high today. fremont. 77 san mateo. 88 concord, 85 livermore, danville is 85. pleasanton is 80. a three to five degree warm up from yesterday. low 80s for may republicans. notice the heat into lake and mendocino. this is one area where we do have an issue. a heat advisory today through lake for daytime highs that will get to the low 100s. clear lake going to 102. with not as much access to on shore flow and marine layer and being so much further north, you are now far enough north that you are feeling impacts of that oppressive heat d

we're seeing vegetation fire spark up daily in the bay area one to one, north bay won the south bay just depends every day, the threat of wildfires becoming a reality here in the north bay. a vegetation fire threat. nearly 2 dozen homes in vallejo. it started around 5 yesterday on skyline drive near hands park before spreading to about 2 to 3 acres. the fire forced residents nearby to evacuate this morning. good news fires under control and evacuation orders have been lifted. a field goal. the vegetation fires we've seen thus far firefighters have really just gotten a hold of and just shut down that is best case scenario if they shut it down. that means we don't have to have a massive wildfire spreading which we saw last year. we just don't know when that big one is going to be happening yet this year could happen any day. and that's why you need to be prepared, especially this week when we have these extremely hot temperatures we have got low humidity. fortunately right now in the north bay. i'm not seeing any strong, strong winds. so that's good because, you know, when you have the str

it's not just inland locations, far north bay. entire west will be dealing with a western heat wave. pacific northwest, ridge of high pressure over pacific northwest and they'll be dealing with historic heat, triple digit temperatures for them for the weekend and even into monday, temperatures even hotter in many locations in pacific northwest. they don't have a/c so that will be a big problem. hopefully they stay safe. daytime highs today, seasonal, low 60s along the coast with clouds, mid to upper 60s to about 70 around the bay. inland, upper 70s to low to mid 80s with warmest spots in the upper 80s. 90s inland for saturday and sunday but milder along the coast and around the bay. we are looking at hot conditions that will continue inland as we look to next week with conditions staying mild in the 70s and 60s around the bay and along the coast next week. >> 70s are manageable. >> i think we can deal with that. >> thanks. >>> tonight, 48th daytime emmy awards, show will feature a mix of in person and virtual acceptance speeches.

for those of you in the east bay. so it is shifting instead of shifting eastward like it was a few weeks ago now making its way west right along the coast and to the south as well. clipping parts of the south bay. so we are tracking very dry parched conditions. the one thing really working in our favor tonight and for the coming days will be the return of the marine layer that we're seeing out there right now. in downtown san francisco that is going to be our saving grace giving us some much needed moisture content anywhere from 50 to a 100% relative humidity overnight into the early morning hours, especially for those of you along the coast. so enjoy that lake wind advisory, though, for those of you heading out to the sierra at tahoe. we are going to see wind speeds upwards of 35 miles per hour. less increasing wave heights at south lake tahoe up to one to 3 feet. that's going to start noon monday all the way through monday night. very dry calm conditions, though. in fact, temperatures going to be pretty seasonable i
