i'm james torrez ktvu fox t news. fire crews today we're on the scene of a brush fire that broke out last night and contra costa county. the flames and smoke were first reported shortly after six o'clock last night. an old on old school road in the community of tassajara near danville. the fire briefly prompted an evacuation warning, but crews managed to contain the fire after it burned about five acres. the fire destroyed a house and the resident living there was injured and taken to the hospital. the extent of those injuries was not released. the cause of the fire remains under investigation. thousands of homes remain in danger is the dixie fire rages up north so far that fire has burned more than 550,008 and is only 31% contained, crews say, unstable whether this weekend made the firefight more difficult thunderstorms created high winds and lightning strikes without producing much rain. temperatures also increased. reaching triple digits in some areas. now to our weather, there's smoke from those wildfires is causi

ktvu crime reporter henry lee. joining us now live from the news from with the latest details on the investigation, henry well, alex richmond police tell me they're at a loss as to why someone opened fire at this family, injuring a baby girl in her car seat as her mom was nearby. 14 month old girl, the latest victim of gun violence in richmond. it's a parent's worst nightmare. they were dealing with a very traumatic incident with you know their child involved, so they were getting her to the hospital as fast as possible. it happened a little after five thursday afternoon on shane drive in the neighborhood just south of the hilltop mall. the baby was with her mother and another person near their car. it appears that the. victim vehicle was parked on shane drive and the shooter vehicle was moving. richmond police lieutenant matt stone breaker says someone was targeting the group and that the baby ended up getting hit. why this happened isn't known. there's no evidence that leaves to any type of road rage incident. th

i'm james torrez, ktvu fox two news. in san jose, a six year old girl is dead after crashing her bicycle in the southern part of that city. police said the girl was riding her bike down val roy drive in the la colina neighborhood. it happened yesterday about three in the afternoon. she lost control and hit the curb the impact, then launched her into the air, and she hit a concrete wall. police say the little girl was not wearing her helmet. she was taken to the hospital where she later died. barely really tragic. the whole neighborhood's really shook up really sad. everyone is going to be very looking mark. careful make sure their kids wear helmets. yeah. there is now a small memorial at the crash scene. police have been rather, people have been leaving candles, flowers and notes. the chp is investigating a crash on highway 101 in redwood city late last night that left one person dead. it happened just after 11 30 in the south bound lanes near the milbury avenue on ramp. several lanes of traffic were shut down for most o

just go to ktvu dot com. we are learning more tonight about a deadly police shooting in southern california. that suspect has now been identified as 34 year old irving oli. kong police say he shot at three law enforcement officers over the span of two days in san bernardino county. that first shooting happened yesterday when the suspect ambushed and then shot a deputy. today officers were tracking him when they tried to stop the vehicle that he was in. police say he got out and shot at two officers. police then fired back, killing the man. police say he's a known gang member with a long criminal history. both of those officers are expected to make a full recovery. in palo alto police arrested a woman accused of randomly stabbing a 16 year old girl. the attack happened just before 10 o'clock this morning on university avenue, police say can isha thomas walked up behind the girl and for no reason pulled her to the ground and attacked her with a knife. two men nearby, jumped in and pulled the woman off the girl
