also joining us is sanjay gupta. one expert told us we're about to experience a viral blizzard. what do you expect the next few weeks will hold, what can americans do right now to protect themselves? >> this is a really contagious virus. millions of people are going to be exposed, people who kind of maybe got away with things over the past couple years, even, maybe started to lower their guard, i think omicron will be very unforgiving. it sounds like from looking at the data in south africa and the uk. there's a big distinction in what you can do. wolf, you have seen some of these graphs before, but if you look at the patients who are in the hospital with covid, what you do find is that the vast majority are unvaccinated. what this graph shows is really looking at something that may be a positive indicator, the various waves of illness in south african, the fourth, which is the orange, you do see fewer hospitalizations with this wave as compare to the previous wage. that may indicate a milder illness, but overall, vaccination makes a difference. unvaccinated, those are the peopl
