hang on to your ticket get on to macarthur, oakland, oakland city center stops nearby. lines around the block for some of those stations if you want to take the ferries great option as well. they are on a normal schedule. but you have to pay for that. i wanted to show you a live shot of the oakland maze backed up through the maze, westbound 80 traffic already jammed through the berkeley curve. this is westbound 580 coming out of oakland. it is already backed up on to highway 24. good half hour wait for folks heading to the bay bridge toll. however, this is a really unusual pattern. what you will notice is that the cash payinÑeeádu are backed up through the maze. but, if you have fastrak once you get into the!+b dedicated lanes they are zooming along. there's no back-up there. if you can do casual carpooling, great way, no back-up there as well. i did need to mention another huge problem this just came up. traffic alert north bay overturned big rig. traffic spotter reported it is jammed eastbound 37 near highway 29 blocking lanes, chp has issued a traffic alert. here'

a fire in oakland near the west oakland bart tracks. they do not know if the tracks are damaged the they're canceling service until they can determine that firsthand. will tran is live on the scene with the firefighting efforts. well, why cannot determine if there has been damaged? >>will: they still have not gotten a good look at it. here is a shot from about two of its the gulf. finally, firefighters felt it was safe enough to let the bart engineers walked on the elevated platforms, you can see them, finally after about 2.5 hours, getting a close look at the bart tracks. at this point they have shut down bart service after west oakland. it could not have happened at a worse place. the bulk of the travel clothes from san francisco to oakland in oakland to san francisco. that has been shut off until engineers determined if there has been damage to the bart tracks where the elevated platform. also, they could not tell us, even if there was superficial damage how long or how soon and bart service would resume. at least for now, they said

we're following a developing story out of oakland. b.a.r.t. trains back on track after that massive fire shut down the transbay tube for nearly 12 hours. christie smith is live in oakland where investigators are calling the fire a possible case of arson. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you. let me start by saying it was exactly 4:41 a.m. this morning when we saw the first b.a.r.t. train rolling through the west oakland station into san francisco after a major disruption yesterday. a fire. i want to show you the tracks. this area, this is part of the area that was burned yesterday. of course this whole thing left thousands scrambling to try to get across the bay, a b.a.r.t. spokesperson says that trains are running at their regular speeds through the area of the track that was damaged and the massive fire thursday. there is an investigation under way by the oakland fire department and the atf that was brought in on this fire that quickly reduced a four-story senior living facility under construction down to one story. for b.a.r.t., t
