thismportance of conference being held in washington dc has never been more important. over the course of our history, the one thing we know is that balancing that difference between risk management and access for american opportunity has always been a difficult balancing act. we have gotten it wrong over the years. tipping too far in one way or the other. i will say today we are in such a moment. in correcting for the loose lending standards of the past access we have stifled to credit that is so important to drive the american economy. it is not any individual action. it is policymakers making hundreds of decisions that make sense in isolation, but in the our choking off access to credit in the marketplace. one year ago, we call for policymakers to step back to reassess the balance and make sure there was a vision of how this society should look going for. we asked them to coordinate so we would know the pathway of collective instruments inside the beltway of washington dc, so we could understand where the light at the end of the tunnel would be. industryithout our ex

seven or eight hour trip from washington d.c. to spokane, there's no direct flight so i have to fly some place and get to spokane but it is quiet time, time for me to do some reading, catch up on notes that i want to write or just have time to myself so i enjoy that time. so i get home, it varies in the course of the year but i would take two or three times a month and we have a least once a month district work period where we can go home for an entire week and i maximize those days, get the district, have a large district and ten counties, a lot to get around the district. we are making it work. at the beginning, brian would travel back and forth with me and even after cole was born we tried having them in spokane and die was going back and forth every weekend, which was a long trip to make every week and i found i was tired and still have limited time with the family. i find that it is working better to have the family based here in washington d.c. where i can go home some evenings and be with them and we have our time together

well, according to "the washington post," the limited testing that the administration did before the launch found that the site would crash if just a few hundred people used it. that was -- i mean it's just fascinating. the democrats' whole law was based on the idea that washington, government, is capable of running america's health care system competently. what we have seen is gross incompetence. it turns out that washington can't even set up a web site competently, and it looks like they knew it. computer programmers warned about the rush to get the web site done by october 1. instead of hitting the pause button, which they should have done, hitting the pause button until it could get things working, the white house just pushed on. that's what we learned from some of the contractors who built the web site. this is a web site that cost taxpayers over $400 million so far and the bills are still coming in. these contractors testified last week in the house that full test of the site should have started months in advance. but testing didn't happen until the last two weeks of september.
