rick scott will be in an epic battle. rick snyder and john casic rounded out the democrats. 14 seats including ten which were labeling at least semi competitive. the top five most vulnerable start in red states. outgoing governor is leaving and he will receive in colorado. a sure bet about a year ago, but not very much anymore. pat quincy is anything other than iffy there. an open seat in massachusetts is a history of electing the governors in open seat races and connecticut rounds out the top five. with the governors, another story line is going to be the 2016 angle and the 2016 intrigue in here. the republican governor scott walker and martinez are early favorites and both will be in competitive races. one or both could lose. all the talk about walker for president or suzanna martinez on the ticket. what would happen if one loses there in the dust bin of political history. other people like jerry brown. he wins with more than 60% reelection has a record to run on in health. a health exchange that works pretty well. does

. >> tell me, scott, clearly scott walker, despite the fact he used to run back and forth in the secret tunnel so not to have to deal with the protesters, by framing himself as the unintimidated outsider of d.c., is looking to win the republican nomination for the u.s. presidency. what do you think? is it likely? >> well, you know, governor walker has been an elected official for 20 years. he's dismissed by his potential opponents as their peril. governor walker has access to an ungodly amount of money. his campaign co-chair runs the right wing bradley foundation. his largest donor is the wealthiest woman in wisconsin. he's uncompromising. most importantly, you know, a lot of his opponents will have gotten checks from billionaires like cokes, foster freeze. governor walker took six figure checks from all those guys. what did he do with the money? he won. to do that, after doing that, he's ingauged in a radical agenda, stripping away rights of his potential enemies and taking away money from those who most need it. it's scary. those of us in wisconsin will tell you, it's a message to fol

scott's approval rate is 24%. it makes scott the least popular governor in 190 years of florida history. >> well, let me ask you, mike, does charlie crist have the confidence of democrats, of independents, after making this move from the republican party? is it too soon for him to run? the polling, as you say, looks pretty good right now. but will they vote for this guy? will they work for him? >> he has some work to do. there's no question about it, any time you change parties like that, you've got the naysayers who say, thank you that you know -- why are you coming to us now? charlie is -- charlie has great, great ability. the contrast between charlie crist and rick scott is going to be startling. it's not going to be anything like we saw with alex sink who ran against him last time. charlie is a seasoned politic n politician. he knows how to overcome issues like that. i think it's going to be really interesting. >> how does obama care play in florida? you think charlie crist can go out there with confidence and

the long-time republican governor, scott walker. governor scott walker did not draw a particularly good crowd for ken cuccinelli in virginia in the closing days of the campaign. but not for a lack of trying or a lack of congruant politics between the two men. governor scott walker is up for re-election next year. if he runs for election, as expected, that will be his third election in four years. the fight over union rights in the recall effort made wisconsin the center of the political universe for a while. governor walker surviving the effort. his win in the race made him a national republican darling. so now he pretty clearly is running for re-election in wisconsin. but also he is just as clearly apparently running for president. he has a running for president style book that is just out, titled "unintimidated" so you can hear the story of his awesome amazingness. and he will meet with the national republican donors who right now are gearing up for the republican race. unintimidated, also, need money. but as governor scott walker

in 1999, scott walker offered a budget proposal to essentially outlaw teaching abortion techniques to trainee doctors in medical schools. no state employee, including at the state's medical schools, would be allowed to teach information about the abortion procedure. violators would face a $1,000 fine. the chairman of the department of obstetrics and oncology at the school said at the time "it is a stone age proposal. these people are cooks." a couple years later, scott walker proposed a bill to disallow medical professors from dispersing a prescription if it was birth control and your pharmacist thought as a religious matter you should not have that. scott walker got his start as an antiabortion activist, had been chairman of students for life when in college, and he started in on antiabortion legislation as soon as he was first elected to anything. and now, that antiabortion activist, that lifelong antiabortion activist is the governor of wisconsin. since he took office, wisconsin has cut off funding to planned parenthood, shutting down half the clinics in the state. he and the repub

why scott walker and others are banging the drums for the next leader of the republican party. governors are addressing the health care needs of people in their state. a lot of states with republican governors have economies that are doing better than the national average. >> do you think it would be possible for a republican leader of that ilk to come in to washington and to change the nature of the party? >> that's the million dollar question. >> we'll have a program for immigration. we'll have something to do with infrastructure. we'll have a jobs creation program. we'll do these things. they may not be popular with everybody but still got take 18 members of the house with him. >> he or she of either party says a lot of things. president obama promised an to end childish things and we had the first shutdown in a generation. george w. bush campaigned as someone who wouldn't be the divider and ended up having a very divisive eight years. i think candidates always say they will do things and they dome washington and find it pretty intractable. the honest answer is i don't know.

would you be willing to take money from people who really back rick scott but want to derail charlie crist by backing you? >> i will be very pleased to accept money from people who wish to push my campaign. >> even if they're rick scott backers who -- >> the primary will be another election. but the first election has to be the primary election. and i have to be made the nominee before i can get to the general election. >> all right. >> i don't really know that this will happen. but as i mentioned before, there are -- i have a two-tier strategy. one, of course, is fund-raising. you must have the resources but you also i believe have to have the grass roots support. and that's what i've been doing. i have an incredible network of volunteers, dedicated people around the state of florida who want to see a change and want to see a new direction and don't oh want to see the same old ideas and plans and attacks on our public education system. and that's why i am running for this position. >> thank you very much. i'm sorry we are pressed for time. best of luck to you, nan rich. >> thank you

florida's rick scott. maine's paul la page are all top targets of democrats going into next year. just today "the washington post" ranked these guys as the top three most engagered governors in the country. all three of them trail 2014 rivals in hypothetical match-ups and all three continue to see weak job performance numbers. only 43% of floridians approve of scott's job performance. only 39% approve of lepage up in maine. and catch this just 19% of approve of corbett, tom corbett in pennsylvania, according to the latest polling. governor corbett of pennsylvania has provided some interests explanations for his policies. here are some of his more outrageous answers beginning with one about his mandatory ultrasound bill. >> did that go too far? >> i'm not making anybody watch, okay? because you have to close your eyes. >> since you've taken office pennsylvania's dropped from seventh in job growth to 49th in the nation. >> there are many employers that say, you know, we're looking for people. but we can't find anybody that, that has passed a drug test in a lot of them. and that's a

when scott brown won his election, the story was, and even the president gave an interview where he said, maybe we should think about going incrementally, but they changed their mind and pushed full force to get it done. you know, chris, this plan, when i have here in my hand, it's a pr document. it has nothing in there. i think you talked about the fact -- no, it was david, who talked about all the things the affordable health care act is. a lot of people think it's just healthcare.gov. that's just not the case. what the republicans refuse to talk about, and what's not in here at all is what happens if they do succeed in getting rid of the affordable care act or defunding it? what do they do about the kids on their parents' health insurance. what do they do about no lifetime caps? what do they do about the millions of americans who would suddenly find themselves without health insurance? yes, the 0.6% of the american people who find themselves getting cancellation notices and finding themselves in a fearful position, it's heart-wrenching. it's unfortunate, but we're talking about, as yo
