nbc 10's christine maddela is live at the scene. what's the word on the officer's condition tonight? >> reporter: we've been checking in with philadelphia police throughout the evening to find out about that officer. right now police tell us officers in stable condition at the hospital. at the scene there's a heavy police presence and a portion of dauphin street is blocked off as is a portion of fairhill street. you can see detectives are busy as well as the street being blocked off to traffic. take a look at some of the evidence at the scene. police first got to this intersection after someone shot a 25-year-old man several. you can see a gun left here on the street as well as shell casings. the shooting victim is at temple university hospital in critical condition. and police tell me the officer who was hit by the car was hit when the driver of that car was taking off from the shooting scene here. police say they caught that driver and he is in the hospital right now being treated for his injuries. >>> and this just in to nbc 10.
