blake, what happened? >> reporter: yeah, that's right, liz, donald trump was here in exeter a little while ago at the historic town hall, this was a town hall as they built it. gave a 15-minute stump speech and took questions for 15 minutes or so. one of the first issues that donald trump brought up was prescription drug prices. and he tried to make the case twofold. one, because he is self-funding his campaign, and because as he put it that these companies donate so much to the other candidates, that he won't be beholden to these pharmaceutical companies. the second point he tried to make is the prices themselves and lowering them and trump said he will put as president of the united states, potentially, his negotiating skills to work to lower drug prices. >> i don't take the donations, and so i'm self-funding essentially. self-funding my campaign, meaning, when it comes time to negotiate the cost of drugs, we're going to negotiate like crazy, folks. you're talking right there, one item, one item, governm

fox business's blake burman, with the very latest on campaigns. blake? reporter: republican presidential candidates right now are gearing up for tonight's debate in houston, texas. the lone star state debate is the lone showdown before super tuesday. 11 states up for grabs on election day and nearly 600 delegates. texas is getting a lot of attention and for good reason. it will account for 155 delegates alone. it is also the home state to ted cruz. monmouth university poll released earlier today shows cruz with comfortable lead over donald trump and marco rubio. the cruz campaign is not calling texas do-or-die. but rather they say they plan to do well there on tuesday. another home state poll came in today, quinnepiac university. it released it is florida reading and shows marco rubio has significant ground to gain on donald trump. rubio said yesterday he feels he will win florida, and rubio campaign is pushing back hard on that poll. top advisor todd harris tweeting, media needs he to chill. the florida q poll numbers are way wrong. we are going to win

blake burman is in new hampshire. good morning to you. >> the sprint is on in the first of the nation primary as voting begins tomorrow here throughout the day in new hampshire. one of the things many people are going to be looking at, whether or not this debate over the weekend, saturday night, the one and only here in new hampshire, will have any sort of impact on marco rubio. there was an exchange five or six minutes long between him and chris christie and went back and forth on each other's credentials and rubio during that exchange gave the same answer two or three different times and when that happened, christie called him out for giving the same, as he put it, 25 second scripted answer. rubio, back on the campaign trail yesterday, didn't really apologize for it at all. in fact, he really stood on message. christie though really tried to pound that issue saying that rubio isn't ready to be the commander-in-chief. christie, even, kind of compared it to a boxing analogy. >> okay, but mike tyson that great politica
