of those rust belty kind of states like michigan, wisconsin, pennsylvania, i think pennsylvania, wisconsin, real uphill battles, wisconsin in particular, when you look at where the polling is. but that poll you just showed out of michigan, that is something that i believe is giving the trump campaign reason to be hopeful about that state. you saw hillary clinton there today. you talk about a place like pennsylvania. one of our colleagues here, joe scarborough, calls it fool's gold for republicans. that's kind of what it is. it's also, potentially for republicans, if trump does well there, remember, why every year? as joy pointed out, we saw it in '04, '08, we saw it in '12, with republicans thinking they could flip p.a. or take p.a. but republicans this year felt like they have a very unique candidate. donald trump is not mitt romney. donald trump is somebody who is speaking to that working class voter, so that white man that's out in sort of the middle of the state, between pittsburgh and philly. and so there was that -- that was driving a lot of the reason for optimism on pennsylvania. a

i don't think that pennsylvania is over. i think hillary clinton is likely to win by two or three points, but i don't think it's a laffer. anybody listening better get out and vote if you want hillary clinton to be president. michigan i think will even be tighter still. and north carolina, the reason i'm optimistic in north carolina and really a little bit optimistic about the entire nation is we've always talked about hillary clinton not doing as well with millennials as bernie sanders or barack obama, lagging behind. but when i got home, i did it a little campaigning after the rally at independence hall. i got home around 1:00 and i turn on the television and i saw hillary speaking at north carolina state in raleigh. and those kids, and there wasn't anyone in the audience above 25, those kids were on fire. and i just visited polling places at penn. andrea, they're voting higher than 2012 levels at penn, higher than 2008 levels. millennials are coming home in a big way and my guess is they're coming home in north carolina a

he's been in pennsylvania, will be in pennsylvania tonight. tell me how it feels to you. you are in utah which has been pretty much divided. a three-way race this time. >> yeah. well, it's beautiful to be out here, first of all, andrea. nice to be with you. salt lake is a great spot. i have had a wonderful opportunity to meet with local leaders here. i feel this is the first time in a long time that a democrat presidential candidate has a shot here. it feels good here and across the nation. it's going to be a close race. aside from being the first lady. you're also a judge. i was in north carolina interviewing people from the naacp. about the voter suppression issue which is critical in north carolina. there is a case pending. they are waiting to hear back. tell me about the whole issue of trying to disenfranchise minority voters which is according to the president a key part of the strategy and other states. >> well, we are so blessed to live in a nation with a strong and robust democracy. yet we do have a history of not always making it easy for everybody to participate
