so michael avenatti weighing in. this is not of course his case, this is another case involving patricia mcdougal, one of the other instances that is so fraught with some embarrassment. danny cevallos, as you look at all of this, and the michael cohen tapes and the way those raids went down, do you think that he was signaling in his off-camera interview with abc that he was angling for some kind of a pardon, and of course a pardon could only cover a federal crime, potential federal crime, or sending a warning to the white house that he was about to cooperate with the prosecutors in the southern district of new york? what do you think his game is? >> for people in situations like michael cohen or other individuals like paul manafort, the question of will i or will i not receive a pardon has been a real gamble for any of these folks, because on one level, if president trump he ever plans--n ever plans on pardoning them, these people may cooperate with the federal government and then the cat is out of the bag. on the ot

we had stormy daniels with her attorney michael avenatti. he was talking about michael cohen this morning. he talked about how he paid off the former playboy model that was having an alleged affair with donald trump. now cohen is tweeting, despite michael avenatti statement this morning on abc implying otherwise, in fact, michael cohen did not and has never had any tapes of any other kind. is he right to share with avenatti? >> he has a specific client he's representing in a specific case and a specific interest. if cohen wants to make himself open with others in the government, it's best he not share with others. i think that's a smart move. so we don't know if there's something avenatti knows about what cohen does have, but cohen should keep that as close to the vest, i think, as a strategic decision. >> strategywise, why would not avenatti, if he doesn't have more information with tapes, why would he say that he did? >> maybe someone has told him there is information. he might have sources that give him this, not cohen himself but other i

but if i were going to say who wins between rudy giuliani and michael avenatti. i don't see anything he has been caught in lying about. he released things that i personally wouldn't have released. he's doing it because he believes that people have a right to know and he has information that is certainly of interest to the public. as to any lies, i think that's totally incorrect as to giuliani saying things that are not true. that's clear, his interpretation of the tape is clearly not in accordance with what i heard and i don't believe the president is correct when he says don't believe what you see and hear, i do believe what i see and hear. and i think facts matter. and the tape recording that cohen has released does have the president clearly knowing in advance when he said he didn't have any knowledge of the deal about karen mcdougal, clearly he did, he clearly says the word cash and michael avenatti -- i'm sorry. >>> michael cohen says clearly, why would he say no, no, no, if they were planni they weren't planning on using cash for this payment. >> we have so
