and the speaker's been working on this bill. there's language on this bill. we put out, as i just mentioned, a blog from the treasury, put out -- how this would be paid for. the revenue that it would raise. and so i think we're in a good place to move forward, and we'll continue to have conversations. reporter: the white house said the president has made some calls, congratulatory, conciliatory to democrats. i wonder if the president has spoken to the govern-elect of virginia yet. and if not, does he plan to do that? karine: so they have not spoken. the president congratulates governon -- governor-elect youngkin. the president talked to terry mccauliffe, would have preferred a different outcome but the will of the people is clear and the president has always believed in working across party lines for the good of the american families, and he looks forward doing that with governor-elect youngkin. the president is very proud of the race that terry mccauliffe ran. as someone that puts his heart and soul into everything he does, but now is the time to move forwar

it, the sweeping climate and social programs bill. the concerns progressives have had is if you decouple those two bills and pass the bipartisan infrastructure bill and the other one -- then the other one will not pass. one of the challenges has been these two wings of the party, moderates with their concerns, who have been taught a real lesson with tuesday's results, concerned about big spending, concerned about the deficit questions, that we don't have the former cedia score, they've raised concerns -- cbo scores, they've raised concerns. they are holding off because they've demanded these two bills be together the whole way. here in this 11th hour, decoupling them sort of changes their strategy. can they go forward? this is such a test. the house is due to be out. when you look at the available calendar left for actual legislating, it is dwindling. this is really the time to get something done and it appears the president is finally using the "i need you to vote" card, which he has not done until this point, which is very notable.

it, the sweeping climate and social programs bill. the concerns progressives have had is if you decouple those two bills and pass the bipartisan infrastructure bill and the other one -- then the other one will not pass. one of the challenges has been these two wings of the party, moderates with their concerns, who have been taught a real lesson with tuesday's results, concerned about big spending, concerned about the deficit questions, that we don't have the former cedia score, they've raised concerns -- cbo scores, they've raised concerns. they are holding off because they've demanded these two bills together the whole way. here in this 11th hour, decoupling them sort of changes their strategy. can they go forward? this is such a test. the house is due to be out. when you look at the available calendar left for actual legislating, it is dwindling. this is really the time t get something done and it appears the president is finally using the "i need you to vote" card, which he has not done until this point, which is very notable. 1 >>

>> on the infrastructure bill, everyone calls it the bipartisan infrastructure bill. the only place where there is a transportation infrastructure committee is in the house of representatives. the bill is crafted in the senate where they don't have a transportation committee then when the bill came over to the house of representatives, no republicans were allowed to amendli the legislation so i wouldn't consider it bipartisan from that regard. i can't support the bill because in addition to the lack of bipartisanship in the house, there are 42 new taxes within that bill. i don't care if you are taxing corporations were small businesses in particular, mineral or chemical, whatever fees, fines or taxes, those costs get passed down to the consumer. we were given a bill that we were told was paid for and it actually wasn't and you have some competing interests. the electric vehicle market you had the government subsidizing and competing with private enterprise. where ii live we have a ton of electric vehicles. we had a businesses with charging stations in their parking lo
