we haven't gotten any confirmation from chp, but the coroner arrived on the scene less than a half an hour ago. it appears as if investigators were examining shell casings on the roadway. there is a tarp over the front seat of a car that is stopped there. still no real information on exactly what they are looking into. no word on who might have fired shots or if there was more than one person who may have been injured. were killed. the traffic back up is obviously severe. it is bumper-to-bumper on i-80 from the toll plaza to the east all the way to buchanan street, albany, past that area, i-580, past the highway 24 980 interchange. looking at the live traffic map right now if you want to avoid the area you can take bart or a ferry across the bay. some drivers have been heading north to the golden gate bridge or south to the san mateo bridge. some of those areas starting to free up at this point. no estimated time when this investigation is going to be over and when all of the lanes will reopen. we will keep you posted on this. >> quite a mess out there. for the latest updates had to k
