. >> yeah, kris sanchez is outside the san mateo courthouse in redwood city. >> reporter: we expect that we will hear from scott peterson himself today. our legal analyst said his attorney said he will address the court before he is resentenced later today. he was convicted of killing his wife and their unborn son in 2004, and they overturned the death sentence because they found the judge made mistakes that impacted peterson's right to an impartial jury. the family has a right to address peterson once again, and the first time this happened our legal analyst was there and he said it was gut wrenching. >> i can tell you it was one of the most moving and emotionally powerful days i have courtroom, boiled homicide detectives with tears in their eyes. >> reporter: scott peterson is expected to break his science for the first time in 20 years as he requested in a separate hearing a new trial. >> with any luck we will hear more details about what he was doing and where he was going, and perhaps even what he thinks about the new evidence that has emerged in this case. i think at this point we
