we've had lightning strikes as well right around hayward in castro valley. and now up into solano county, too. this line of convective activity is starting to weaken a little bit. and that's good news because we're going to see less likely that pea sized hail that we had been seeing as well as less likely to see the lightning, which is the biggest downside. when we talk about fire danger with these storms, lighter showers around oakland up to berkeley and richmond right now and then some light showers as well. up in marine and sonoma counties, heavier rainfall into mendocino and lake counties zooming out across the region. most of the storms are moving to the north and east. so all that energy is about to be headed well up into the north bay, just skirting parts of the east bay in the peninsula. most of the inland east bay, as well as the south bay dodging most rainfall potential today. speaking of where we do have some advisories this morning, a special weather statement right along that line of thunderstorms that stretches from mountain view on up the east

valley and nevada community hospital. they say center ignores their complaints about nurse safety and that low hospital staffing forces them to make or work massive amounts of overtime. the nurses say if they don't see changes soon, they may consider going on strike by the end of the month. as a nurse of 30 years i've been hit. i've been spit on been pinched. i've been slapped. i've been screamed at. um and we bring these issues out. we have a great hospital here. a great group of nurses, but we need more support. center says it is committed to reaching an agreement that reflects the good and important work of the nurses and maintain strength and stability for the organization, the teachers union at san francisco city colleges challenging proposed cuts at the school. the cuts would involve faculty and staff layoffs and reduced course offerings. the union is challenging the legitimacy of the data used to come up with budget projections for the school by the accrediting commission for community in junior colleges or h. j c.
